Pan Car Hex adapters

I need some hex adapters for a pan car. Specifically for the rear of an Associated RC12i. I think I can rig some rustler fronts or worse case Tamiya F103gt front but the rear has me stumped. I asked Google and Ebay and they turned up nothing.

My goal is to use touring car wheels and tires on the chassis.

thanks

BRP used to make those, the part #'s you'll need to try to find some are in the third post of this thread: http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...s-pan-car.html

There is a couple of issues with the idea you propose. The first is the size of the tire relative to the bodies that will fit on a 1/12th scale. There are very few bodies made for that sized car that use a 1/10th scale TC tire. There was some Yokomo and another mini sized car that used 1/10th scale wheels and tires but the width may be different so even if you find one it may not fit. The other issue is that a pan car is going to handle really poorly with TC tires and rims.

Thanks for the help guys!

I already have the chassis and the body and the wheels, so I know what's going on. I'm building a homemade version of the cars like the Kawada M300GT and Yokomo GT500. Next step is to figure out how to put a 380 in there.

Im sorry......you asked google and eBay? Are they people you talk to or what?

I got a response from Bud quickly, unfortunately it was, "Sorry no longer have them."

Anyone else with any other options?

He could use Mini wheels and tyres. The diameters would be right then. They'd be awful narrow for the rear though.

I've been trying to find a supply of tyre caps to run a 12th on a low grip surface. So far no luck, if anyone knows where to look I'd appreciate it if you could tell me.

The rear axle for an HPI F10 will work

Great idea! I was thinking Tamiya F104 but HPI parts are always cheaper than Tamiya. I think there might be a difference in bearing size but I think I can rig something.

Actually thay are the same. I went the other way and put a pan car axle in the F10...You may need to dremel the axle for width and put a new flat spot for the set screw since it's 1-12th scale over 1-10th

Tamyia uses a different size hex ...won't go with the standard TC rim....

Tamiya F103GT hexes are 12mm and will accept standard TC wheels.

The problem is the bearing size, metric vs. standard on the HPI.

@pejota:
Do you want to sell that axle you removed?

pejota 01-08-2011 03:28 PM

i think you mean scootr117
