What kind of benefits have you noticed from installing the ceramic bearings? Heat reduction? Quicker spool for rpm?

I put a 4.5 and 5.0 in my 17.5 ZR3 can with this result : the can is short ( or the stators are too long ). Is the stock can the same as the mod can ? I don't see a different part number. See picture of gap between can and end bell :

My 9.5, 13.5, and 17.5 are interchangeable. I'm pretty sure you need to adjust the spacing on the rotor. Or check alignment of the bearings.

Most motors from manufacturers have mod motors and stock motors different lengths for some reason.

the difference is between the X.0 and X.5 winds. i forget which is which -- but they are different lengths. i'm 99% sure the physical can is different between the X.0 and X.5 motors. maybe Jim or Fairtrace (or even Haynes) can respond. worst case i can take apart my 4.0 and 4.5 motors to verify.

did you just buy a different stator and try to drop it in a old can? was the can previously a modified can? or a stock motor can?

Thanks Mike, no need to tear down your motors , this isnt urgent, but I think this needs to be explained as it isn't clearly written up by thunder power anywhere I looked.
Yes. Different stator and old can. I bought the 17.5 motor ( stock can ) a while back. Then just bought the 4.5 and 5.0 stator and the mod rotor. I saved a bit of money thinking I could just use the ( stock 17.5 ) zr3 can , bearings , and sensor. I looked on Thunder Powers product page and didn't see optional cans for mod or stock, just one size fits all... But maybe I missed something ., but I figured I was safe.

Let me try to explain, winds 7.5t to 21.5t have a shorter stator than the modified 3.5 to 6.6t motors. There are two different cans for the motors. One for stock and one for mod. So the short answer is a mod stator will not fit in a stock can. We only offer the stock can as a replacement at this time. There willbe new mod cans coming soon.

Thunderpower 17.5 in my stock car and now a Thunderpower 4.0 in the mod car. Can't wait to give this thing some track time.

Mike what kind of differences have you had between the blue and green rotor? How has the Green rotor been for straight speed? I am waiting three weeks to run it in my 13.5 motor. Gear it way up?
