or do i need to solder 2 wires, one to + and one to -?

I solder the + & - to the battery terminals on my speedo. I also wire a switch in-line on the + side. Then you can just plug the other end into an open slot on your receiver.

To make it even easier to change or remove, I solder a servo lead from the + & - on the speedo and then just plug the booster pins into the servo lead. That way I actually use the booster without modifying or soldering directly to it. While I rarely ever un-plugged it, I like the idea of being able to drop in a replacement booster very quickly.

This booster has just a 0.5A output what is not enough in my opinion. Also the voltage output range is to much adjustable so if you adjust a too high voltage accidentally you will kill all of your electronics in the car. I would prefere a fixed output voltage for this reason.

Iīm just using the cheap Hobbyking booster and this works for me. Voltage with 5V is a little on the low side but I didnīt wanted investing very much as I run 1/12 very rarely now. If you want a higher quality booster there are the Dynamic booster, the Robitronic and the one from Sweden brand Team Laje what looks the best to me.

Default rc dynamics

There is only one choice the rc dynamics, forget the Novak .Worth paying that bit extra, very small and built in switch, they also make one suitable for the AE BDiamond Esc.
