Default Adding cells to an assembled pack

I had a custom pack made for my car a little while ago. It was only a 6-cell pack, but I want to add 2 more cells. Could I disassemble my pack and add the new cells?

Thanks

Would the extra cells help the acceleration?

Can anyone help? I need to know if it'll help the acceleration, so I can get a bigger pinion to gear up so my tires won't spin.

Thanks.

I ordered 2 more cells, and bought a soldering iron (instead of the gun I had). Can anyone give me tips on how to assemble a battery pack?

The new cells will be in the middle of the car.

(1) what are you trying to do with your car, and
(2) can your ESC take 8 cells?

If your ESC can take more than 6 cells, watch the motor
rating too. ESCs are rated for X-turn motors at 6 cells,
if you use more cells the rating must be adjusted lower.

Uh, I have a Gm V12 esc. It can handle it, in fact in can handle even more cells, and I can go to lower turn motors too.

And I'm trying to so with my car is, have fun, and reach 100mph. And don't tell me it's hard, because it's not.

You're doing this on a micro I presume and your're using penguin chassis. When you add on cells you should use smaller pinion to compensate for the increased in RPM and weight too. ....tried using 10 cells and increase the pinion....well ..... the motor did the "holly smoke" trick on me.... well doing just for the fun of it. Good luck !

Will the added cells give me more torque?

Im not sure about torque, but it will give you more top end. You can always gear for more torque w/ the pinion or spur gear.

I don't really want it to give me more torque, because I already use a 31 tooth pinion and 58 tooth spur, so it's geared really high and still spins the tires when it accelerates.

Just put some tire sauce on there! That'll fix your problem

It'll give ya both top end and torque. Actually there was a benchmark test in Japan just last March with a touring car running on 6 , 8, 10 & 12 cells....and guess what ? the setup using 6 cells clocked the best lap time and the worst being 12 cells. The conclusion of this test shows that you only gain more top end on the straight but you'll loose out handling in the infield.....soooo....adding cells is only beneficial up to 12 cells when you wanna to do drag or oval racing and not on the regular racing circuit where 4 and 6 cells rule.

I'm going to be drag racing it. But I think my lhs will let me race in the micro class for the track too. Which would be fun since I have the same setup as the last track and it'll be the same surface (vht), And I did really good on the last track.
