Can anybody shed some light on flying with your RC equipment. Specifically lipos and what to carry-on versus checking.

I usually carry on my Lipos, cars, and radio...everything else goes in either a couple of large suitcases or a hard case tub from Home depot. I always put TSA locks on my luggage and if I am traveling with my tub then I zip tie it closed and tape a couple of zip ties to the lid in case they open it up.

I always carry an RC mag with me through security so that in case they are wondering what the gear is I can show them.

Last time I flew they did not look at my stuff at all...it was kinda nice, but usually they want to see the radio because it looks like a weapon on the scanner.

when you booked your flight there is link for TSA rules, thier rules state that they do not want you to put lipos in your check in luggage and is ok to carry on the plane. depending on what day I'm flying and anticipated security lines, I will take my car an radio along with lipos in my carry one, YOU MAY BE PULLED OUT OF LINE DOUBLE CHECKED, more likely then not, depends on the TSA, when I flew out of memphis, they scanned it, asked what it was, opened it, told them i was in town for roar nats, the guy says, oh yea, I wanted to go to that, and let me go, flying out of oakland, a breeze they didn't even ask, flying out of seattle, yea, we have a problem.. lol. I always look for the same tsa, he knows me by site now. they won't allow tools on, motor spray, anything like that, they have taken shock oil before, but now i put it in a zip lock bag with a note explaining what everything liquid is and its not a issue. they will open you carry on bag, and there not really careful about repacking it. leave a little extra room so they don't just cram everything back in. good luck and see you there.

Expect to be impressed, the new track is very good! Berms add alot to the racing with great flow. The traction was off the hook.

We talked about this in the iic and birds threads -- I captured a lot of the feedback here..

The track KERBZ were awesome. There is a section shaped like a oval that is curbed on either end and is the head of the infamous dragon's back section in front of the drivers stand. I think this section will see the most dramatic passes for position come main event time. As ABR mentioned, the traction is up and will get even more consistent. Get those entries in early!

I forgot to ask. Is the race open-traction-compound?

I assume there is no issue running the ORCA speed control at the race in non-blinky class correct?
