Default Help with GM Sx9 ESC (Speedo)

I got a used GM Sx9 speedo and it seems like it would be great for 12th scale mod if only I could figure out how to do the set-up.
The translation from German in the manual is 'less than excellent'

If I buy a GMVIS Commander charger (not cheap) does that help?

Is there any post somewhere that could help me?

thanks

If you ask the question in English they'll reply in Englkish too.

Also there are some other forum members who know this by hart.
They'll probably help you out soon.

Barry

I also picked up a used SX-9 esc today and haven't had a chance to run it yet but the directions are, well lets be honest CRAP.

I think you can read between the lines and get it to work but the first thing you do is set Neutral, Full and Brake but it does not say if you have to move the trigger on the radio. If you find any tips, let me know.

Goodluck - I am gonna ask a buddy with a V12 which I would think is similar

I was able to set the neutral, full and brake

the trick for that is to NOT click the setup button (as opposed to a Novak or a LRP) in between doing each.

However, my challenge was in trying to set maximum amp draw (I want 50 Amps), and verifying the frequency (I want 4K).

Hi Barrys

I hear that You know how to set-up the speedo after the radio and yes it's very simple. When the car is On, press the set-up button, when the LED goes out hit full throttle, full brake, and then leave the transmitter in neutral. When the LED comes back, the speedo is ready.

To change the settings in the speedo You have 2 choices.
Either use the button on the speedo, or use the GM VIS commander charger, with the cabel for programming the speedo.
With the commander You have more options, and can change everything with 1 step per time instead of 10 steps pr time. F.ex. setting the Torque limit to 56Amps instead of 50 or 60 amps

Look in the manual and find the thing You want to change.
If that thing is in menu number 3, You do like this:
Speedo off - transmitter on
Press and hold the set button.
Turn on speedo
The LED will be flashing fast, and then slow.
Wait till the slow flash have been there 3 times (For menu #3)
Release the set button
Wait till You see the LED flashing fast
Press and hold the button again
The LED wil start flashing slowly again
Hold down the button until the LED have flashed the same amount as the setting You would like. (Ex. If You are setting brake max to 70A, the LED should be flashing 7 times, as described in the manual)
Release the set button
Wait until the LED don't flash anymore, and the speedo is ready for action.

I hope this helps

Sincerely
