Jayne and I send our deepest sympathies to you and your family.

I have had the honor of knowing Ken since 1982. Being one of the founding fathers of the slot car and RC hobbies, his leadership will be missed.

I will always remember the long hours spent at the Chicago Hobby Show and his attention to detail as well as the personal time he spent with me sharing his passion of collecting cars.

Mike - My condolences to you and your family. My Dad and I were patrons of Parma Model Raceways on Ridge Road back in the 60's and 70's, so I've grown up around Parma products. I still remember racing on the HO track while my Dad raced on the 1/24 scale track.

Your Dad will be missed.

He passed away peacefully Tuesday evening with my Mom and I in attendance.
He was diagnosed about five years ago with a rare movement disorder called PSP (progressive supranuclear palsy) caused by a brain disease, for which there is no known cure or medication. In lieu of flowers or for more information, make contributions at curepsp.org.

Ken was the founder of Parma Model Raceway in 1964, and along with his wife Joyce, grew the business into an internationally known manufacturer of model car racing products known as Parma International, Inc. Ken retired in 1994.

Visitation will be held Thursday 23rd from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be Friday 24th at 9 am. For more info and tribute page, please visit

Very sad news, my thoughts are with you and your family.

I was sponsored by Parma in the '80s and '90s through their long-time UK agent Helger Racing, now Horizon Hobby UK. I had the pleasure of meeting Ken and sharing an evening with him at the 1993 IFMAR Off-Road World Championships and he was great fun to be with. I've used Parma slot car products and RC car products since the late 1960s. The great thing about Parma was not just that they had a good idea, but that they kept that idea up to date, and continued to lead the field. That was down to Ken.

I still use Parma stuff, and it is still as good as ever. Ken's greatest legacy is that the firm he founded has been handed on to such good people, and that you have continued to lead the field. Ken will not be forgotten, and his success lives on.

Sorry to hear of this. RC racing has been a huge blessing to my life and Parma has been a big part of that. You never know how your actions may affect the lives of others. Thank you for your family's contribution to the sport.
