I have always ran my steering block like I did on my tc5 regardless of the arm mount or castor block I have been running ! I dont think you can gain or loose from it is more of a feel thing. When you ran them like I do you can add shims to it to make the car easier to drive or you can run it low as well !
Hope this helps.
Haha thanks it was nice to meet you to ! Hopefully I can make plans to go to the last one in germany !
Yes I have been running silver spring since december on my car. I feel like it gives me more on power steering and makes the car a little more stable as the green spring made the rear end a little too soft and rolled over the rear just a little too much ! I still run 0B roll center in the rear.
Otherwise there is no major changes in the setup I have been running. I plan to do some testing in the next 2 weeks with 2 races in the next 2 week ends so if I come up with anything better I will post on here.
Hope this helps.

#157

I will try and get something to associated to post in the coming week ! It is actually very close to my latest carpet setup just a few changes being a little bit narrower front end and thinner front oil !
I have to mesure them again! I beleive it is 63.7mm
Hope this helps

Hey Keven, just wanted to say 'thanks' for all the help yesterday. Everything you suggested was spot on.

Hi all, first time post.
Just got back into it after a 10 year sabbatical , if you can call ten years that!
TC 6 , Modified with rubber tires.
Problem. not enough steering in general. Guess it's a good place to be, now looking for steering instead of rear end.
I have turned up the Dual Rate and lowered the steering exponential to get a 'feel' of handling but want to find it mechanically so it is kinder on front tyres. Car feels a bit too safe with this much 'push'. Also sledges a little bit under braking so can never get into a corner late as have braking set reasonably low to focus on corner speed.
Looking for fine tuning options.
Solutions i am thinking :
1/less rear toe (from 3.5 to 3) ?
2/Shorten front and rear camber links to : Front 5 / Rear 4A ?
3/Shorten front wheel base ( from 2 to 1 ) ?
Track is open fast flow with some technical sections : nhrccc . org . nz
Awesome thread BTW. Any comments appreciated.

Did you try to change the droop setting? Try 6mm front and rear. If it still has understeer try 7mm in the back. This should work!

less toe is the way to go 3,5 is very much
2-2.5 is ok depending on surface and conditions
1.5 - 2 for lower motor power.
greetings

What body are you running on your TC? They can make a huge difference in performance.
You should list more of your setup and car choices, like motor wind, etc.. It will only make Kevin's suggestions easier on him to help.

Very true Steve, wasn't too sure on how 'overkill ' i should be with setup info
bodyshell : Titan - Mazdaspeed 6
Tekin redline 6.5T/ tekin rs pro - using boost to increase mid range punch and turbo top-end for massive straight. Went 6.5T to be able to put power down smoothly as track is low/mid grip. outdoor asphalt.
silver springs all corners / 50 wt oil /piston 2/ black sway bar front and back
0 B mounts all round. longish wheelbase for sweepers and general track. Widened track by front 1 and 1. rear is 1 and 3.5 + 1 degree toe block. giving overall 3.5 toe in rear. Droop TC measurement 5 front , 4 back. camber 1.75 all round
played with set up for a while and the above ( except toe in ) is pretty much where I have ended up with a stable/consistent/ lots of traction/easy to drive car so think I want to concentrate on small fine tuning changes.
Am consistent enough ( .3 secs ) to be able to feel the difference in fine tuning.
Was thinking about trying out ISF bodyshell as apparently it has more front downforce.....
Really should try to minimize rear toe first i think.
Lord , please give me more entry and exit steering.
Thanks to all replies, much appreciated.
Off to track to test!
Jimmy.
