I still have one of these cars lying around from when I used to race it in the Sportsman Stock TC class. I am thinking about converting it to a VTA or GT car, but am worried that the parts availability will not support me if something breaks. Have any of you still been using this car to race, and if so, do you just scrounge around on here and eBay to get what you need? Or is anything still out there?

You can always talk to Superior Hobbies as they are the Corally dealers in the USA. He's got alot of parts on hand.

That's a good call. I actually raced the car at Superior the last time I used it - campaigned it there for about two seasons.

I just hate having to go on a treasure hunt every time I need a part.

If it's for VTA I wouldn't be so worried. I have ran a bunch of different cars (including the rdx) in that class and never broke anything. RDX, btw was in my top 3 of favorite cars to run in trans am. Really worked well will the big tires. I'd run it and just keep an eye open for spares on ebay. Or call superior.

Thanks, Juan. I'll be doing some research and taking stock of what I have. If it makes sense to campaign the RDX, I'll message you and see what you have.

I think I am going to give it a spin in the USGT class at the local track, which runs 17.5. If I have durability issues, then I'll upgrade to something newer with parts support. But I ran it for at least a year back in the day and maybe broke one hub once, and it was in Sportsman Stock. Fingers crossed!

Now I need to look and see which pieces are most prone to breakage.

I would have to agree, my favorite VTA is also my 07 PHI.

After looking for the typical weak parts on Ebay (arms, shock towers, etc) there's not a ton of stuff to be had out there. Certainly not at my local track, which means I have to stock up and just hope that whatever happens during a race doesn't end my day. That makes me a little nervous, even though I don't expect to just break everything all the time. I'm trying to decide if I chance it with limited spares available (from anywhere), or update to something modern and just ask the guy behind the counter for a new part if something breaks.

Saw a RDX in VTA last Sunday and it was the fastest car our there by 2 seconds a lap.It was slightly modified with some other car company parts. You can call Superior Hobbies an ask for Michael Bruce as he was driving it. It will be driven in the up coming Nationals next weekend.

You're over-thinking it. A quick search on Ebay under RDX brings up plenty of parts. Just grab some arms, hubs, rear carriers, and steering yokes and call it a day. In VTA I don't think I'd even sweat it.... 25.5 is slooooooowwwww and with the giant HPI tires (plus bigger body shells) you aren't going to break much, if anything. I'll probably jinx myself in saying this but in the last 4 years of running VTA I have not broke one thing, regardless of the car used. As for Bullfrogs comment, it doesn't hurt having Michael Bruce behind the wheel but that aside, yeah, it's a good car for the class. I could see myself grabbing another one at some point for the class......

Just spend $50 bucks or less on some spares and run it as long as you can. Cheaper than a new car and I promise you it's a tank. Don't worry just RACE.

Michael had never driven the car before that day. He was still working on it. It was pulled off after 3 minutes in the first qualifier while leading the current Region 4 champion. In the main he started last and finished 2 laps ahead of me and the rest of field. He turn 22 second laps while (I) and we turned 24 + second laps.

Wow. That's some mighty fine driving! You guys don't race in the Superior parking lot anymore, right? Is all the weekend racing done at that permanent track in Kissimmee?
