so that leaves me with one last question, would it be a bad idea to pick up the RDX?

just asking for your opinion. it SEEMS like a good deal, at least.

My opinion would be that if you just want a back up or extra parts, spend the $125 on the specific parts that you break - no need for extra shocks or bulkheads or other stuff that you would never break.

I bought an extra RDX to back up my RDX Trans Am car. When I didn't break anything for awhile, I started running the back up chassis in RCGT. If you want to start running a second class too, the Phi and RDX are similar enough that the common extra parts that you would stock up on (A arms...) would be economical.

And those release dates are way off, but I think you get the idea.

Have fun.

good point about being economical by getting spares that work on both cars.

either way i think its a win win situation for me.

i'm snagging it up on saturday so i'll be sure to take some snazzy pictures of the brothers side by sidei

If I do that then the servo will be sitting off of the chasis. I will give it some thought though. I made a mod to the battery side so I can secure bigger size lipo. I think someone came up with it on this forum where you use a servo horn to relocate the anchor for the battery strap.

will that in any way work for a phi? I seem to be quite a ways off to fit a tp 40c 5000, at least 3-4mm worth unless it could be dropped into the chassis slots some how.

quik question. i have been runing the old phi with a one-way on a tight track. would a spool be better on a small tight track. if so how much do i have to change from the one-way setup to still have a good car with the spool?? thanks jeremy

Alright guys, well here is my PHI has it sits right now. i am picking up an older RDX soon, though tight monies said no to have gotten it this past weekend.

here are the pics i promised. and keep in mind, this setup is not final, that would explain the long wires and such. i should have a Tekin RS esc on wednesday, and i hopeeeeee to get a micro rx for it.

i fucked up the paint( i guess i didnt let it dry enough??) its really flaky and powdery...maybe i picked the wrong one. but oh well. maybe some tips for my next body paint brand? i have a clear stratus 3.0 and i dont wanna fuck another up

I run spools in a VTA and RCGT - both RDX. I also run them on carpet and on asphault no matter the track size. You will notice less initial turn in so you'll have to jack up your radio steering EPA, soften the rear, and where you used to coast with the one-way, you should be 10-25% throttle. You'll be able to drive very aggressive on the throttle and steering and still have loads of stability.

Here's a couple set up sheets

Thumbs up

This is my RDX after it was rebuilt. I shortened up the motor wires again but I think they could be shorter still and I may shorten the power leads also. Comments and critiques are welcome. I am getting a 4 inch sensor cable in the mail so don't worry about the zip tied sensor wire.

I've got all my info from these two places:
http://www.corallyusa.com/setups.htm
http://www.teamcorally.com.au/shop/i...ment&Itemid=31

The rest I figured out by just playing around with the car. Some things I've discovered:
* If you're spinning out or pushing through corners - play with droop first.
* Ballance the L/R of the car as perfect as you can. There are small holes at the front and rear of the car to perch the chassis on pins to figure out what side to place weight.
* Keep the rear diff as loose as possible without slipping when using the spool.

Have fun.
