He went with a TC5 due to parts availability at the local track. I will not let mine go until I am forced to. There is no reason you will need anything more at a club level. If I ever see a distinct advantage I may change but for now there is none. Its just as good as an $800 dollar Xray.

I have a Losi Type R that has not even hit the track yet but this was such a good deal I could not pass it up. I am running my first car a TT-01 with alot of hopups. I did not want to have a whole bunch of different lipos and then their able to fit the Corally but not my Losi or the other way around.

i run the corally rdx still to this day, i bought the phi when it first came out and was not that inpressed with the car.at a club level there is no reason to change untill u have to, i can set u up with a great setup for foam carpet setup. at this time manutech has my chassis making a lipo plate for it as we speak.

Thanks xtreameracer but I don't have a carpet track where I live. The closes track is about 35 minutes away and its asphalt. Right now I have the car I bought in hand and I have it totally broken down waiting on a screws kit from rcscrewz and new bearings. The screws in the car were a little to rusted for my liking. Overall it was a great buy and has alot of parts. I plan to buy a new bumper, and maybe a new chasis. I am going to switch to the thicker one that came with the buy. Right now I am running a Tamiya TT-01 for RCGT with a SP v1.1 esc and trinity pulse 17.5 but I need to get practice.

the carpet track in my area closed down so now i have to drive 2 hr to a outdoor track just to race mine. it sucks. go with the thin chassis and the 2006 spec thin upper deck. want it flexy to run outdoors onroad.

Does anybody have a picture of how the lipo tray should be mounted on this car? Corally USA told me the tray they sell for the Phi would work on the original RDX, but I'm not seeing a mounting configuration that makes much sense...

If you figure it out let me know it works. One of the local racer here says the tc5 lipo tray fits but i have not tried it.

i cant say i ever broke one(how tight do you make your diffs), the best upgrade i could think of is to buy the phi diff and put in the rdx.

my front diffs i like to run fairly snug. but not locked down. my rear diffs i tighten then back off 1/4 - 1/2 turn depending on track. majority of the time its my rear diff bolt that breaks.

thats too tight, just tighten them untill the diffs dont slip. you are over tighting them.

This is my baby after being stripped down cleaned, parts replaced and put back together. Its still not done though, I am rebuilding the shocks among other things. I have a Ko Propo servo, with a SP 2.0 Carbon esc and spektrum micro receiver. Your imputs are welcome.

Hey guys, i recently bought one of these off my friend and i was curious as to know which model i have. they all look pretty similar and the only difference i could notice is what is written on the top plate. currently MINE has what looks like a circle and a triangle.

http://www.rctouring.eu/images/corallyrdxphi08.jpg like this one. also, all my aluminum pieces have a light tint of blue in them if that means anything.

ALSO to go with this, i am picking up an RDX on craigslist for 125$. the photos did not look the same (the rear engine mount wasnt even, the top deck extended farther on one side). i want to make sure that even though they arent the same, some/most parts will match up. (i wanted to buy this as a parts chassis). if they wont fit...i guess i can always run a nice back up

There are basically 3 RDX kits out:
RDX - Around 2004
Phi - Maybe 2007
Phi 2 - just released

You have the Phi. The Craigs list car is an RDX.

Most breakable parts are the same:
Arms/dogbones
Diffs
Shock towers
Belts
Screws/washers/bearings
Spools/one-ways

The stuff that is different:
Center point steering / steeringn knuckles
Hinge pin couplers
Top plate
Bumper plate
Anti-roll bars?
Chassis plate

If you want a back up car, try to find another Phi.
If you want to learn more about the parts, you can download the manuals here: http://www.corallyusa.com/
