Default RDX BUMPER AND SHOCK mod

Hi Guys
I've been using the X-Ray front bumper (foam) on my RDX for a while now...seems to give good protection without being too hard. Very little mods needed to make it fit also.
Here's a thing some folks might like to try....the NEW Type SERPENT shocks on the RDX.
The Corally kit shocks are superb, but me being me I wanted to see what would happen if I used the new Serpent shocks from my 960 (and upgraded to on my 710 with amazing results!!) on my RDX.
I used two sets of FRONT (short) shocks with the Corally spring cups and joints.
On the first drive with the shocks I was really impressed by how much smoother the car felt (not that it wasn't before!). The car really did have that little extra stability, and on the rougher parts of the track it just stayed flat..quite a suprise!
Do have a look at the Serpent shocks. They are absolutely the EASIEST shocks to build and get working first time, and they are very strong...my 960 exploits can vouch for that.
I haven't experimented much with oils yet, I'm using 40 front and 35 rear...but the weather has now turned to -C here so testing outdoors is more of a problem.
Give it a try, I'd like to hear your views.

Just wanted to update my recent breakage issues with my RDX for those who have suffered the same problems (syndrOme). I fnally was able to get back on the track yesterday with the car, and it was wonderful. I didn ZERO wrenching on broken parts the entire day.

The 6-washer front diff trick is a great tip IF ONLY you add a single 1mm shim to the inside of the roll center a-arm mount blocks. The CVD definitely makes contact with the diff screw on hard impacts with the wheels turned full lock. Not a flaw with the car, most certainly a flaw with the thrust cone washer diff trick. Again, it only works if you add shims to increase the width of the front end. To keep the width the same, you should use narrow wheel hexes up front. Personally, I liked the stability and slightly less aggressive steering the wider front end allowed.

I would also highly receommend the new Specialized/Corally USA front bumper setup with the thin Rubberneck high-density bumper with the perfectly cut Kydex sub-bumper. It is the only MUST-HAVE option for this car, in my opinion.

Now I can get down to figuring out how to get faster instead of figuring out how to keep things from breaking. wOOt!

Apex the wider front end will give increased steering in the car. You will have much more steering when running 2 1mm spacers on the front of the car on each of the roll centers

Matt, run AE perches in front. How much did you lower that tower man? You should still be able to get like 5-5.5 mm with the stock perches and the lowered tower.

Actually, a narrow front end steers MORE aggressively, and can increase oversteer. A wider front end gives more stability, slows down steering response and can decrease oversteer. That's just basic race car setup stuff I learned in karts when I was 10. I went to a wider front end this past Sunday (2mm wider) and could feel the difference in steering response.
