I always setup my car with faster motor. When your setup is so stable, consistant and fast with for example a 12T. Then it's even better with 19T stock motor for me. On the other hand, if my setup is good for a 19T, it's not always good to drive a 12T. That's my experience. In that way I can understand, why most people use TOSO setup. But mostly the RDX is always fast and easy to drive.

Just mounted the new Novak GTB Brushless with the Velociti 5.5 motor...Wow is that a tight fit!! Am I going to run into any strange problems with the receiver on top of the servo? The ESC is about 2x the size of my VFS1 Pro and I couldnt make it fit even with the receiver on it's side. Any other suggestions? Servo is a Hiec HS 5925 MG woth an M8 stock 27mhz FM receiver.

Thanks,
Joe

There should be no problem at all with running the receiver on top of the servo.
Theres really no other solution than what youve got for installation.

Thanks Ray!! I'll let everyone know how the setup runs after Thursday night. I'm going from a Putnam Ti 7x2 Brushed to the Velociti...Should be interesting.

I got to race against the prototype system a few months ago, but in 12th scale. A brushed motor won the race, but it was fast. Acually too whicked for a 12th scale. I am assuming or best guessing it was about the equivalent to the 5.5.

So anyways-laptimes between the brushless and brushed were very close. SO that says a lot for the GTB system. HAVE FUN!!!

No, the Carpet Spec car comes with a 3.4 mm upperdeck as opposed to the UK/US kits' 2.9 mm.

The lower plates are the same on all RDX kits.

I just received mine and was wondering where everything going to go. I'm going from the gtx to the gtb should be real fun. Can you post a pic of your setup? I really don't want to mount the receiver on top the servo....

rcgen: I tried everything possible to not put it on top of the servo...It was the only option I was happy enough with. I have seen the receivers on the top deck but that looks even more hack than with it on the servo. I'm going from the super small VFS1 Pro Comp to the GTB so it was system shock for me as I had everything very neatly laid out on the 4mm chassis with all the wiring hidden. I guess if it runs as well as they say it will then I can live with the way it looks under the hood and not cutting a comm every run!
