Not always according to this weekend (30-31 juli) during the European Championships in Glostrup, Denmark. Corally Team drivers are using 2.4mm and 2.0mm chassis on that tarmac track. It also seems to be a wet weekend, so it will be recommended.

So only for carpet a chassis as stiff as possible is recommended and using foam tires. In Europe you don't see those thick chassis' with rubber tires. Foam tires aren't used much over here in Europe. For racing om carpet with a touring car mostly hand-out rubber tires are used during races. Like Sorex/Orion or CS-27.

Corally will be in full force this weekend at the 5th Annual Summer Sizzler at Trackside. Drivers that will be there will be myself, Jeff Cuffs, Brian Koch, and Mo Denton. Also driving RDX's are Brian Lutz and a few other locals.

And our competition.....

Brad Johnson, Stephen Sobottka, Brian Jucha, Mike Pulfer, Chris Goetz, Buddy B, Kevin Kane, Andrew Ellis, Josh Hohnstein, Ian Ruggles, Rob Love, Justin Zorc....to name a few...

Should be a great race! Good luck to everyone else driving an RDX this weekend!

I did, felt kinda weird. Had a bit more forward traction, but sidebite comming out of the corner wasnt there so it tended to kill the corner speed comming out of a corner a bit.

dawgmeat,

That is one of the things I have not tried yet. So far though, flat pins all-around has been faster than anything else I've used. If you want a really good mod carpet setup for lower bite, I've been perfecting one over the last month or so. Let me know.

This is the track were the carpet Nats. was held and about 30 racers every Thrusday so traction starts off low then picks up a lot, but anyway can you give the hook-up

Have you Jeff Brown ever thought about starting your own forum"Ask Jeff Brown" or "Ask Brain McGreevy"?

Can't wait to get my new chassis. Do you think it'll work on a indoor high-bite asphalt track with the standard top deck? -JB
