Default Question about Tamiya Mini Cooper Bearings

I just got my Mini today (used) and I want to go ahead and replace all of the bushings with bearings, but I am a little confused.

I tore the car completely down, except that I didn't take the diff apart, and all I can find are 12 bushings - 2 at each wheel, 2 inside the gearbox, and 2 on the outdrives of the diff. All 12 are identical - 5x11mm - or incredibly close to that according to my caliper.

Now the confusion - I was looking at Tower Hobbies, and they say:
For Ball Bearings Use:
Two 5 x 8mm (For GearBox)
Thirteen 5 x 11mm (For GearBox and Wheels)

Where do they come up with 15? For that matter, where do they find 5x8's?

Second part of the question - I know Tamiya is pretty strict about running Tamiya only parts for the TCS - does this include bearings, or can I run anyone's bearings that I want to use?

Thanks!

I count 14, the counter gears in the tranny have both 5x8 and 5x11 bearings

you can run any bearings in TCS racing

Tower is wrong. (Maybe they're so kind to give you 1 spare??)

Manual refers to your bearings as 1150 & 850.

Total only 14 pcs = 12x 1150 & 2x 850.

TCS allows any brand of bearing.

Personally, I would suggest investing in a high-quality bearing set form Boca. They sell bearing kits for specific vehicles, including even the Tamiya M03/M03-L Mini Cooper.

I have been running mine since the TCS race at RCO in March, and they are awesome bearings.
