Questions?? Need Help Differentiating Metal Ball Bearing from Ceramic

Hi, I purchased a couple of used cars and a lot of spare parts. I have a bag of mixed steel and ceramic ball bearings and some of them have red seal on and I think they are probably ceramic ones.

My question is, how can I differentiate if the rest of them have the same metal casing and seal? I heard that ceramic is lighter so is it a good way to tell which ones are ceramic by weighing them individually?

Thanks a lot!

The obvious way to me would be a magnet.

I don't think a magnet would work, the balls might be ceramic but the races for the bearings are still metal.

You will have to take the shields off to look at the balls in the bearings. If they are ceramic they will be dark gray in color.
