Default Ever seen a seperate lipo voltage cutoff?

Hi guys- just wondering, has anyone seen a seperate voltage cutoff unit, which would allow lipos to safely be used with a non-lipo ESC? If so, can you mention a brand/type?

I'd be interested in switching to lipo, but don't also want to switch out my ESC's just yet.

I believe you can find them online, I know AMain has them, here are 2:
Perfect Regulators - 6.5V/10A
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...tage-Regulator
Or this one rated @ 6V, id probably get this one:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...tage-Regulator
Its the same, just the output is 6V instead of 6.5V

Good day!

Those are voltage regulators, not lipo low voltage cutoff.

DJ, those are external BEC's/regulators, not an add-on LVC for the ESC.

dammit, second mistake!! first one, I was about to put different regulators on, then realised they probably wouldn't work for this particular application, but still messed up!! Hehehe, sorry!

What's what can be confusing....

Here is the link to the menu of our Module store section:

TeamNovak Modules

I think that Novak is the accessory supplier to the R/C industry (electric).

This is a great idea. I can use my brushed stuff with lipo now. This gives me much more mileage out of the older gear. Nimh is way harder to keep in good condition than lipo.

I have successfully used and tested the novak smartstop for almost a year in the Greek RCGT, before converting to brushless. I must say it always did what it was supposed to do. I used it with a Trinity 27T tuned or whatever superfast motor, which everyone envied (they started with silvercans!), since the reg's allowed "27T brushed motors", but they only had the silvercans in mind and I was... perfectly legal with the 27T etched on the can!!! Then slowly everyone turned to the "other" legal combination, that of a 17.5T brushless, so they started overtaking me! So, I also turned to brushless to stay competitive, of course!
I had a kinda "unfair advantage" at first!!!
Anyway, I still use it for bashing with my non-racing cars, like a Tamiya vintage Blackfoot... Nowadays I have no nimh's, only lipos, so it's still very useful indeed!

The LIPO cutoff from Novak works great. I have one installed in my sons touring car, which uses an GTX and 27Turn. Have actually had it kick in on him, which saved me $100 for a new battery (Twice!)

Well work the investment. I am also installing one into acouple of offroad trucks too.

NovakTwo,
I'm looking for something that can protect the battery in a case such as using a Lipo in a nitro bump box. Can any of your products perform in this capacity?

I don't know of such a product but it's a great idea for one.
