If you can runt he Reedy 19t Quad, then run it....767s or 766 work well with it.

Trinity Chameleon 2, trinity 4505 cross cut brushes red & red springs. comm size?, im on my 2nd comm, same can & i couldn't tell from old to new comm any difference, it screamed all the time.

Can it be run at a Roar race?
#6

Well, they were the handouts at the Recent Roar paved nats, but they do not conform to roar rules (go figure?????) It is hemi wound, and for the motors to be legal, the armatures must be wrapped using the cross wrap method. Only the newer run of Trinity Chameleon 2's are cross wrapped.

Adrian, you are 100% wrong.....the Reedy 19t Quad is NOT ROAR legal.....
First, its hemi wound.....according to ROAR rules, non-oval 19t motors must be crosswrapped.
Second, the armature shaft does not extend out of the endbell with a taper, which is also required.
Third, the motor has never been submitted for approval even if you overlook the other two problems....
Why it was allowed to be used at nats is because nothing really says in the rules that a handout must conform to rules....it just has to be declared before the event, which the Reedy was.

Forgive my ignorance, what is hemi wound and cross wrapped?
#12

Well, the easy way to describe it is.....
Look at ANY 27t ROAR stock motor.....thats crosswrapped (also call Mabuchi Wound)...
Then look at any ROAR handwound modified.....thats hemi wound.
In the end, Hemi wound will always be faster, since they are essentially a half a wind less thans its crosswrapped version would.....aka, a 19t hemi wound is really only 18.5 turns.

so if you have one of the hemi style chameleons, how can you tell from a quick tech ( no teardown ) that its different than the new style?
I have a Quad mag and used it for touring and now for 4wd offroad, really lots of torque.
I think though for touring alittle more RPM out of it would be better. maybe use a 767 with a hole drilled in the center? If I remember correctly that should give you more RPM?
Other than that the motor rips. Peak Dynasty / orion element is also a good motor.

Ade - The heaviest you can find...im not kidding. Then gear it up and it will be very fast.
Cain - Nothing makes the quad turn more RPM but it dosen't need to. Geared ~5.6:1 (final drive) in a sedan it will have more rip out of a corner than a 10 turn mod and it will be faster than a C2 or Ultrabird down the straight. It sounds impossible but its true.
