Well, you wont be using any motor you buy outside that race (from a hobby shop or whatever) to run at a Roar race, because they give handout motors and include the motor in the entry fee.
And yes, that is the correct motor.

Oh, well guessing it is a normal club race, then I have not come upon a track that does not allow the Reedy Quad.

Well the thing is, as long as it is the handout, and everyone is using it, the rules don't apply. Roar can give whatever they want...it doesn't have to be legal...as long as everyone gets the same motor.

True. Also, most club races run more of an "outlaw spec" class than traditional spec, which means motors like the Reedy Quad Mag are allowed even though they have bearings, different wind patterns, etc.

All Racer's, the Reedy Quad mag or any Quad can be run in a Roar
race if it's not handout, as state in the Additions, Clarifications and
Corrections Roar Rules, " Only single piece (2magnets in a can)
or Split magnet (4 magnets in a can ) ceramic magnets are allowed. No rare earth or cobalt magnets permitted." and Roar
did not get any motor from the company's that make these
motor's to be approved, so not even the C2 is approved for
Roar race's in 2004, there you go I hope this info clear up all about the Quad mag, and at the Nat's they ran both C2 and Reedy Quad mag.

i have a xxx-s with a reedy 19t quad mag but im having a heard time finding a good gearing / spring /brush combo .im at 90/24

From what I've heard you need to gear this motor unusually tall. I'm talking like a 28 tooth pinion with the 90 spur. I know that sounds crazy, but that's what everyone is saying.

i hear alot of talk about using 766 / 767 with the hardest spring you can find that just sounds a little agressive to me

#56

Yep, most people I race with tell me to gear to a final drive ratio of about 6.0-5.7
