Like EA said......I think you bought the "Chameleon 2 'Cross Wrap' Armature " instead of the regular chameleon arm.

Bingo!!!!!
That looks exactly like it..

This is what I bought from tower
LM0818 Trinity Chameleon 2 Pro Motor
COMMENTS: The difference between the Chameleon Pro and the Chameleon (TRIC44088) is that the Pro is dyno tuned (and therefore is broken in) and has better brushes and brush springs.
REPLACEMENT PARTS: Uses Serrated Silver brush. Trinity part #RC4499. Springs, part #RC4395, Motor Can #4601 TRIC5108.
Armature #RC2223 TRIC2223
Can also use #TRI3005 Armature, TRIC3005 meets 2004 ROAR rules

The armature:
This is the replacement Armature for the Trinity Chameleon 2 Pro (TRIC3123)
FEATURES: Diamond trued commutator
19 turns, single wind (19awg. wire)
Armature has a id tag for easy identification
Drill balanced (holes are drilled in the arm for balancing)
INCLUDES: One replacement armature
REQUIRES: Installation into the Chameleon 2 pro motor can

From the Trinity website...
TRI13005 Chameleon 2 'Cross Wrap' Armature Chameleon 2 'Cross Wrap' Armature - Direct replacement for 2004 Chameleon 2 motors (RC2122,RC2123) which are a cross wrap wind pattern to meet 2004 ROAR rules. 19 turns of 19 AWG "cross wrap" wire.
But this is the one that goes backwards.......
AUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
