Greetings- I recently purchased a Novak GTB 2 Sportsman/Ballistic 540 System 17.5T from towerhobbies. I put this system in my Losi 22. I must admit how easy it was programming this esc. Everything ran fine the first couple of runs. Though, I did notice an issue with the brakes not working well.

Now, here is where the problem started. I thought the battery was dead because, the vehicle just stopped. The weird part is the battery wasn't dead. I could pull the throttle trigger to full throttle and nothing would happen...all of a sudden it would kick into gear for a couple of seconds and then die. Again, I recharged my brand new venom 3800mah 60c battery in which was almost fully charged to began with.

I checked all wires where connected. Soldered wires where fine etc etc. I noticed when I pulled the throttle trigger the green light on the esc would stay solid green. I tried reprogramming with the same scenario. Every so often while having the throttle trigger pulled the motor would kick in...then die.

I'm no expert but, sounds to me something is shorting out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I figured to post here before I did anything else...

Thanks Nick

The GTB2 has lower on resistance (than the Edge) and a 3.5T motor limit.

The Edge has a much smaller footprint and a 10.5T motor limit.

The Edge is the perfect size and performance for USVTA competition.

Can you get the Edge 2S / Ballistic Brushless Systems with a 21.5T motor for USGT racing?

We are not combo-ing the Edge 2S with our 21.5 Ballistic---primarily because we try to limit combo proliferation....

If there is demand, or if our items are speced into a series (like USVTA), we make the combos available. We now ship our USVTA items to our distributors.

For now, you could pair up a new Edge 2S with a RMF SS Pro 21.5 for @ $96 + $64 = $160.

If we get requests from USGT (promoters or racers) we could add the Edge2S/Ballistic 21.5T combo to our store.

Ok I'll say something to The Hobby Shop. I just run your ballistic 10.5T in my Slash and like it a lot. I would just like to stay in the same family of motors. I like the Ballistic so I can change them around as needed.

For those GTB/GTB2 customers having problems with installation, you can always trade it in for an Edge 2S controller if you need to send your GTB for service. Our Edge has a much smaller footprint than the GTBs.

The Edge 2S, because of the size and you won't need the GTB2s motor limit of 3.5T. I suggest emailing Charlie ([email protected]). Tell him what vehicle you are using---he may have some install tips for you. In some Drift cars, it is helpful to clip the motor tabs to make it easier to install the motor.
