Barry does recive a salary (nothing real high, but enough to make a living I have to assume) because he works for Team Associated as a tester & a driver. Plus I'm pretty sure he has a say in what does on in their product design

R/C Racers don't win money. They have to earn it like a regular working man, except they get to do what they (and I hope I can say we) would love to do for a job
Uh...factory racing is working. They get a paycheck every month for working. They also get bonuses for WINNING races.

You think they get paid for losing, then?

Wish I had more of interest to report on, but practice is practice. Tomorrow will be real controlled stuff (running in heats) so I may be able to get data afterwards. For photos, there really is nothing new that I've seen that I'm "allowed" to photograph (haha) but I will keep working on it. I will have some pics up tomorrow, I have the race pages just about ready to go.

Aside from those that Hodapp mentioned, Hara and Blackstock looked ballistic in 12th scale, and I have to say it's cool to see those Pro 10 cars gliding around the track again.

More tomorrow.

Sorry for so many questions. Great coverage as always!

Keep an eye on that Sam Forbes kid. No sponsors, young driver, probably the only one driving a Yok CGM. Tenacious wrencher. He won't give up until he's happy with the car. Not that I'm biased, of course . . .

Dom, great to meet you. Very nice racing venue, Rose City club is super nice. I made it onto the news yesterday morning. No interview though, I must be too ugly.

As far as paying R/C Drivers.....

Top Pros are on a monthly salary. Varies with contract. There are incentives that go along with that salary.

Some get paid for making an A-main
More pay for Top 3
Bigger Pay for Winning
Pay for TQ as well.

All depends on the contract for the driver. Of course the entry fee money is for the club track and ROAR, thats known. We are talking about the manufacturers.

Cyrul and Burch are here. Along with Hodapp and Swanson, Lopez and myself. Since it's only practice, it's difficult to tell who is fast and who isn't, even if we looked at the time sheet. I'm sure Shane will post results after each qualifier.

Taz what pan are you driving. I've got the ugly sea foam, flame job Nissan P35. I really should test the paint before I lay it down.
