It's actually somewhat different.....the straight is longer, and they made a few areas before turns longer, its different enough to meet the guidelines.

Hi friends. Greetings from Malta.

May be a stupid question but I don't know your rules.

As this is a National, is it only open to US Nationals or will there also be overseas racers - Masami, Hara, Spashett etc.

I know there are ways round it everywhere. We have raced in other countries Nationals simply by paying membership to the National body of the country concerned. I actually used to do this in real car racing too.

Looks like it's going to be a good event.

SHANE. Great job again, but we have learnt to expect no less from rctech.

Re Corally car, I suppose it's the new twin belt car they ran at the Euros 2 weeks ago, and which went so well.

Good luck everybody.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

John, I believe the rule reads you have to live in the states for 6 months. Hara lives in california now so I believe he will be racing.

Matt is correct you have to live here for 6 months. There will be a state race at the worlds track next month( anyone can come as long as they are a Roar member-you can join at the race[weekend membership available]. The residence requirement does not come into effect at that race ). Good luck team Corally!!!!

As badboy said, how many Permanent onroad facilities are there?Tamiya? Give me a break! And then they would actually have to bid on the nats.Do you know how much it is to run something like this?Let alone the amount of work it is to run a nats? Its a deterent for most clubs. Everyone should thank the rose city guys for doing it!

http://www.jacksonrcracing.com/onroadpics.htm

the stand in those pics was replaced this year

check out some pics

http://www.jacksonrcracing.com/forum...opic=612&st=45

might have to scroll through that a little to find the completed building at the end

we are a club run by members there is no owner

Layout aside, I haven't heard anybody here complaining about the quality of the track. I think it's a non-issue. There is so much practice time (4 total days) and so few people (relatively) that track time is not going to be a problem whatsoever.

Hara has been living in the US for close to a year now, so he certainly qualifies for the Nats.

Unfortunately there's a limit to what I'm able to do here; if the track is not something where I can get easily connected, I'm not going to go way out of my way to make it work. Hopefully more races will provide on-site access in the future for things like this.

mr. losi, will do!

Default Club hosting a ROAR Nats

I have to admit I was at first worried about a ROAR nats at a non-permanent track.

However, two key things:

1) The folks here are doing a great job, better than most hobby shop staffs. As an example, the driver's stand (which is actually a trailer so they can take it from site to site) is excellent.

2) The club here in Portland also does a great job of publicizing the sport. They actually managed to get a TV news crew here this morning who showed a split screen of one camera following some cars and another one from a helicopter overhead.
