I doubt he is running the new car. There is a rule in the ROAR Rule book about cars/parts have to available to the general public 14 days prior to the event to be legal in stock class. So he is probably running a standard master kit or running an illegal car (which I doubt).

Corally is planning to release this baby soon.
They will add this car to their assortment.
The current Assassins also will stay available.

Look for availability for this new car in about 2-3 months allready!

At least that's what the rumours are at this time.
BTW pretty solid source...

Alex Lopez takes the first round of Stock TC, followed by Peter Robinson.

Controversy already; someone pulled Michael Bruce's car off the line right before the race and said he was missing a wheel nut. So as Rob Michael grabbed a nut to put on the wheel, the race director says "alright, go on the tone." Everybody in the entire track yells no, and the director just says "sorry, we are going anyway" so the race starts. Rob throws the car down on the track just after the pack goes by, so Michael starts in last place. He works his way all the way up to second, about 2 turns behind Lopez, and gets delivered from behind by somebody else, that hangs up his body and drops him about a lap off the pace.

I'll have the full results after the first set of As are done.

Atsushi Hara takes the first 1/12th modified main, followed by Mike Blackstock.

Paul Wynn takes the first 19T main, followed by Travis Schreven.

More controversy; the race directors didn't post the frequencies beforehand, so nearly every race so far has resulted in a long delay and a lot of shouting while people realize they are all on the same frequency. For some reason there is a guy walking around with a clipboard that has frequencies on it, but they are not posted. Go figure.

They also decided to start calling penalties, AFTER that first Stock race, prompting calls that the race should be re-run. I doubt that will happen.

Brushless is running right now, Modified TC is up next.

Any other interesting new car kits or interesting retro-fits appearing at the race? I wonder when we are going to start seeing some of the cars for the worlds if all of the rumblings about new Losi and AE cars are true.

(yes, I did read EA's post about the illegal car rules)

I don't think you will be seeing many new cars at the worlds -- especially not from the big companies. They want to go with the tried and true equipment to get the win. That said, it would still be neat to see something new, other than that Corally car there is nothing really here.

Tom Esposito takes the first masters main.

Steve Weiss takes the first brushless main over Mark Dawson.

Atsushi Hara cruises in the first A main, Barry Baker second, Andrew Cartwright takes third after a last lap pass down the straight over Paul Lemieux, Rick Hohwart fifth.

That's it for the first set of A mains.
