Default World GT?

Is World GT alive? Can anyone point me to a treasure trove of information or online chatter? My search Fu seems to be failing me.

Thanks!

just type in "worldgt" in the search, and there will be threads popping up.

Yeah, its big and still growing at a rapid rate here in FL. WGT and 1/12th are the biggest classes at our local track

1/12 scale is back growing in SoCal, and World GT is right behind it. Trying to get these wonderful pan cars back as they are faster, easier to setup, and MUCH cheaper than their Touring Car associates to build and campaign. Let's go racing!!

Not a true WGT body but this is my WGT car!! I ran it at TQ's 1/10 pan car event a few weeks ago!!

If this class ran 2s packs and 21/25.5 motors I would run it.
I like the idea of being able to use gear I have already.

Even in 1s 13.5 you can use gears that most everybody has if they ran electric before brushless.

My local track runs a class from the mind of a local racer..SCAR

SCAR 25.5 / World GT 17.5 CHALLENGE
a/ CHASSIS - 200MM Pan Car Chassis
b/ MINIMUM WEIGHT - 1,030 Grams [WGT 930 Grams]
c/ BATTERY - ORION 2400 LIPO Battery Part#14104 or #14007 [WGT any 3.7V Single LIPO]
d/ MOTOR - NOVAK 25.5 SS Brushless Motor Part##3425V or NOVAk Ballistic 25.5 Part #3625V [WGT any 17.5 Brushless]
e/ SPEED CONTROL - Novak Havok 2S Sport ESC Part Number 1732 [WGT any ESC]
f/ TIRES - JACO Spec Tires (#JAC2100 Front #JAC2110 Rear) / CRC Spec Tires (#CRC2300 Front # CRC2302 Rear) BSR Spec Tires all these tires are similar compound.
g/ BODY - HPI Body - based on Street Legal 4 Passenger Sports Cars - Cars must be Numbered and Lettered and you are encouraged painting it to resemble a real race car. The Protoform COT Body Part #1230-30 is also legal and required for the OVAL [WGT any HPI 200mm Bodies or Protoform Sophia]
h/ Eight Minute Qualifiers - Eight Minute Mains
i/ Mains - Unique Rolling Starts

This is usually one of the biggest class on race day. Everybody shares chassis info and has a lot of fun racing this class.

Try a WGT specific car tread like CRC's

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...0-pan-car.html

What kind of car are you running?

What specific questions do you have?

I'm in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

There are a few guys locally trying to start up the 1/10 pancar, 13.5t, 1s LiPo variety.

I'm looking for general info on chassis ect, as I'm very interested but have zero knowledge.

Thanks for the help so far, I was hoping to find something like the resources the USVTA guys have, but I think this class isn't as organized?

not sure what sort of organization your looking for, but it is a roar sanctioned class and as such has specific rules.. there are plenty of specific car threads, just like all the cars in the other classes... for all intents and purposes, all the cars are Extremely similar.. most have adopted the pivot ball/link system and use some variation of the standard "associated sliding kingpin style" front end.. the john stranahan thread probably has as much consolidated pan car info in one thread as can be found.. if that doesnt bore you to death, try the original pan car thread in the "oval larger scale and other" thread http://www.rctech.net/forum/oval-larger-scales-more-5/ this thread by the way is the single oldest and longest continuously running thread on all of rctech.. you ask a question, you get a clear concise answer from knowledgeable folks.. just perhaps not as fast moving as some of the other threads.. if you have any specific questions,m ask away and myself or anybody will be happy to answer with either opinion, fact or both... i have been racing the class competitively since it's beginning and it is easily my favorite class in rc.. easy to setup, fast enough (13.5/1C) and very fun close racing...

Just pick up an Associated 1/10 r5 or the CRC 1/10 xl and you'll have a very competitive car without having to break the bank!! 13.5 1s lipo is VERY fun--we're running them here in SoCal on carpet at TQ Hobbies. Check out the rules there and some cars in the TQ Hobbies Calif racing thread!!
Spec Jayco tires too--- I just painted a new "Sophia" body to install for mine this weekend.

It is starting to gain steam at my track,( Located in the Vancouver area) I know of atleast 12 cars that have sold in the last 2 weeks in our area. Our season is just getting started and with that people are still waiting for this?? or researching that??... but I bet we will see the class grow to a solid 10-15 car race in the coming weeks. I built mine last week and ran laps with it on Sunday and was really impressed with how easy it drives... I will be testing again this Wednesday in prep for our Sunday race.

We run ROAR ( 1S 13.5 spec tire with WGT only bodies) If you have any questions just let me know I would be happy to help
