Default pinion gear

hi is it normal for the pinion gear to wear out over a perioud of time?

They tend to take awhile depending on the gearing, but yeah they will wear. Tamiya gears wear the quickest IME and end up getting sharp. Quality 48/64 pitch pinions take pretty long time.

yea i got a tamiya ta02 (electric) iv gone through like 4 pinions but that was like since 2001 and i dont race i just bash. but the first 2 i weared them out quick casue i didnt know how to set the pinion gear onto the motor and i weared 2 spurs aswell cause my sisters boyfriend gave me his car.but then i read the manual and i figured how to do it and my spurs have been fine. but i just lost a pinion the other day
