Questions?? What is the highest kv motor than can handle 3S?

I have a TC4 that currently has a VXL system in it. I have raced a friend who has a 4tec 3.3 and I destroyed him. He just couldnt keep up. Well now he wants to drag race and I know I will tear him up off the line but I believe that he will catch up closer to the end.

What is the highest kv motor I can run on 3S? The VXL motor is only a 3500 kv motor so I want a higher motor but want to know my limits. Thanks in advance.

play with your gearing and the 6900 from castle can handle 3s

what speed control you running? I believe the vxl has a rpm limit. I like the 36-50 Tacon motors at hobbyparts. can grab a 5900 kv for 25.00. motors run great.

Your ESC will be the problem. Typically 1/10 motors are good up about 90-100K rpm's and it's usually the bearings that give out.

Id go with the castle 5700kv motor on 3s for a drag race. Plenty of power and you should be good with temp's also. Take's up to 3s also...

+1, I'd go for the CC 5700kv on 3s with 4000+mah 30 or 40c lipo & with grippy tires. Just be sure to keep an eye on motor temps when setting it all up.

I think everyone is forgetting that he is using a VXL ESC.

Im pretty sure the vxl speed control can handle the castle 5700kv motor , he just wont be able to take advantage of the tuning options the castle esc's come with... but on a plus side it will be waterproof...
