What batteries do they currentley run in mod?
It used to be 4cell (nimh) for TC which was unheard of in the rest of the world.
Do they run lipo or life f.e.?
Just curious.
I know 23t also used to be huge. But I really do not know what the switch Li-batt and BL did to the Asian rc racing world....

In HK or China. There are only 2 class for touring. 5min and 8min. Most race no motor limit (it used to be 10.5T or something for stock (8min), as the turn out is so low they cancel the 10.5T limit). With the advance in Lipo tech all guys are running same car in 5 or 8min race. Same setup. Just the driving style is a little different as you don't want to over heat the tires in 8min race. lol BTW: For mod ( I am running 4.5T) I am using silverback 60C lipo. Usually I run 8.5min and the voltage afterward is around 3.6-3.7V pre cell. 
If you really push it you can get 11-12 min run time . I think the voltage per cell is 3.1 or 3.2 after. Don't really wants to push it as it is so close to the 3.0V margin.

Priced at US $102, I'd go for the Sakura Zero 'S' for an entry level car. You have the option of upgrading for a few dollars more to change some plastic parts to the aluminums: Front and rear bulkheads, suspension blocks and the steering unit. Box stock the Sakura "S" is quite a contender in my local track.
then how much for zero...?
still undecided...but my 1st choice will be zero...

i havent built mine.. or started it. im hoping to start it tonite or tomorrow nite.
i think what overgear is saying is that the S kit is a better value.
even spending a few extra dollars on a couple important upgrades like the chassis and springs (i dont care about the chassis but the springs seem important) you will save money over buying the fully loaded zero model.
i paid 122 for my S kit shipped. granted im in the US. im not sure what prices are in malaysia.
but other than old tamiya tt01 kits, i dont know any other rc car you can get for that kind of money. especially one thats competative.

When you take in the fact that people who have a Zero upgrade to a narrow lipo chassis, gear diffs, 4 mm shock towers, vertical motor mount ect... makes the Zero S look even better price if you are looking to upgrade it eventually. My second one will be here next week. Using 1 for TC and 1 for VTA.

If your upgrading to the lipo chassis, i suggest you get the stiff top deck. It will have excessive flex using the lipo chassis.
On the Sakura (not s) I noticed it was flexing to much using the standard top deck with post. Stiffer top deck is a must imo.
