if you want to get into the CS stuff that is going on at the moment you need to change the centre pulleys to get more drive from the rear than the front. You will also need to increase the steering throw. There are some youtube clips on this for the sakura zero.

the pure drift chassis are very different in the motor and battery placement so there is a lot of customizing required if you want to do the lot and is probably cheaper in the end to get a drift chassis.
Thanks for that I ordered a solid axle for the rear and a oneway for the front. As for the center pulleys which ones should I look at?

Motor, as stated above, very inexpensive and give the same performance as the big $$ brands

Program card, will allow you to change & adjust settings in the esc. Even though it says it's the "Turnigy" brand it will work with the above esc.

Cheers
Rob.
The ESC is back ordered. Is HobbyKing pretty good about restocking quickly? Or is there another ESC that would work well with that motor that's cheap too?

HK is very spotty about filling back orders. some things are quick, some things have been on back order for months

Default Gearing this bad boy

Ok, Gearing this car is a pain in the butt.

with the stock spur the MAX pinion you can fit is a 37t and the 37 didn't even fit right. too tight. (36 is real world) With a 37t FDR was at 4.108 I wasn't even breaking 110 degrees with a 17.5 blinky

So I got the vertical motor mount and 37t would not fit at all.
Changed the spur to a 78t(stock is 80t) and had to grind a bit of the vertical mount so the 37t would fit. Now FDR is 4.005 getting better.

I now have 74t and 75t spurs coming. I also have 37t diffs coming at well.
I also have 19t layshaft gears as well, but that is not direction i want to go.

Switch to 64 pitch gears. The 19 tooth pullys are also the way to go.

What Spur/pinion are you running in 64 pitch? Right now I need to test a 3.7 -4 FDR for the courses i run.

I was trying to avoid 64p as I do alot of dirty parking lot running as well and 64p don't hold up well.

I'm running an 88 tooth spur. I have run a FDR from 3.8 up to 4.3 and have not maxed out the adjustment in either direction the 88 is a great all around spur for this car when using the 19 tooth pulleys and the stock 38 tooth diff. I have had the same spur in my car for months without a problem. as long as you adjust the mesh properly they last just fine.

With the 19 tooth pulleys and the 38 tooth gears your ir is 2.0 so a 44 tooth pinion is a 4.0 FDR. a 47 tooth would be a 3.74. I have only run up to a 46 tooth but the 47 should fit just fine.

You need to go as small as 68-70t spur with a 32-34t pinion to get 3.8-4fdr i use 20t pulleys as the belts have stretched now

I switched to the 19T layshaft pulleys from the start and ran 64P gears with a 92T spur and a 45T pinion giving me a FDR of 4.09 as a base and I adjusted from there.

65/47 * 1.9 = 2,62
But which motor did you stuff in there? My 13.5T would go up in smoke in two laps with a ratio like that. I'm using the 19T pulleys to get the belts more relaxed, so with a 69T spur and 34T pinion my FDR is 69/34 * 2 = 4,06.

You sure that's right. I'm thinking you must be cooking motors very quick. A 65 tooth 48 pitch spur in achievable but not with that pinion ?
