Just do what I'm sure everyone else does - make up a price, half it and the hobby is surprisingly affordable.

Saw someone awhile back drilled their motor mount instead of buying the SAK 17. Did this myself the other day, and have to say I'm pleased with being able to secure the motor and change pinions must faster.

You're not going to find a better car for the $$$$. Take a look in the for sale section and see what you can find. Usually some good deals on the sakura s there. For electronics go with a basic fly sky radio or a used spectrum. Should be able to find deals on these too. Go new on the motor and esc. You want to know the history of these parts. Unless you know the person selling them spend the money and buy new. You don't need anything extravagant. First decide what class you are running and go from there. Unboosted speed controls will cost less though.

You will need the spur adapter and the 19 tooth pulleys. The shaft with spacers is nice but you can shim the stock shaft as well. Not too tight. You want a little side to side movement in the gear to prevent binding.

As for hop ups read back a few pages. This has been listed many times in this thread with many good opinions from a lot of posters. Read these over then ask any questions you are confused with. A ton of information is only a few pages back. it would take pages to repost all of it.

Nothing for sale unless someone on forum has one they are thinking about selling.

$121 plus shipping from my home track in Georgia. $120 shipped on eBay from rcmart (dinball) if you want to order it from Hong Kong.

Or keep watching the for sale section. They pop up pretty often.

I was talking used, but yeah I can get a new one if I can get some good deals on the rest of the equipment. We run 17.5 blinky. I was hoping to stay at 300 but it looks closer to 400 with spares.

A couple of guys just got these at one of our local tracks. Waiting to see them perform. The co$t has impressed me already.

Hey all. Im sorry if this has been answered (I got to page 50 before giving up). To get a fdr of 4.0 with 19t centre pulley is it possible to fit a 40t pinion with the stock 80t spur?

I don't think it will fit. I've got a 70t spur, 19t pulleys and the biggest pinion I can get on with a vertical motor mount is 38t. I havent tried with the standard motor mount. This is also with 48 pitch.
I think I can get a 39 and maybe a 40t pinion with a 70t spur if I grind away some of the motor mount.
Using a smaller spur will make it easier to get an fdr of 4. 70/35 pinion = 4.00
