its funny though it all was fine till my novak atom got fried some how i think it was just old because i had it for ever. then the same time that happend i was running a speed jem in my xxx-t whiich was a 11t double. well that fried the same time and that pissed me off lol. but any ways then i get a novak dually i think it is im not by the car but then i put that in the hpi with another speed jem. and that speed control is still fine but the moto fried again so i dont know wtf lol and i have tried changing the pinnion and the spur and it still gets way to hot.

may seem obvious, but are you setting the mesh between the pinion and spur with a piece of paper?
if its too tight then the motor will overheat like that....

The car is either undergeared or overgeared....I am not the type who in the technical side of racing, I race. If it overheats and have low run times, its overgeared, right? I don't know.......Here is what i did, I switched to 64 pitch gears (the pinion and spur gear has smaller teeth) and used a 37t pinion and a 116 spur. Start with that, it should run cool even with a tightned slipper. If you buy the two speed tranny (which is cheap now) it'll come with the correct setup.

Run 122/35 with that car for a stock motor, great place to start.
