How would that affect the longevity and the structural integrity of the ball cup??? Can't deny that you are weakening it. Any of you guys have had issues where the ball cups get egg shaped and pop out???

I did that to all my Tamiya ball cups and found they weakened quickly. I used a body hole reamer. It was a lot easier to work on the car with the holes but I eventually went back to regular ball cups for longevity.

Using a reamer to make the holes has helped my RPM cups last a lot longer. Without the holes when I was twisting the cups off they'd quickly get stretched and pop off in crashes. Can't think of a crash where the reamed RPM cups popped off yet, well a crash that didn't break parts that is.

this one has the tops sliced off rather than reamed. also helps to give some clearance between the rim and the ballcups when running long camber links.
