Default 13.5 spec racing thoughts on esc software

looks like we will be having a 13.5 foam touring spec class at local track and i would like some input on what software we should run.
i personal will be using a kopropo 1.5 that has a boost setting of 1-6
i know most people have tekins and 1 person has a lrp sxx or spx and there are some with speed passions

spec racing would be no boost.

if you are allowing boost, it should be 13.5 motor, anything goes for speedo.

Just my opinion here but I think the boost and timing advance is destroying the hobby. What happened. To stock 17.5. Superstock 13.5 and then mod . Having a 17.5 that goes down the straight like a 10.5 is just nuts. I dunno just my opinion. Stan long time no see !!! Phil

For an idea of the speed of boosted foam, at the Halloween Classic this past weekend, the 17.5 foam class had faster lap times (with good amateur drivers) than Paul Lemieux and Keven Hebert did in Mod Rubber. Obviously, the Mod cars were faster down the straight, but the foam cars carried more corner speed due to better traction, resulting in faster lap times. I agree that 17.5 boosted would be faster than 13.5 unboosted.

Unless you've got really good drivers, you'd be better off with unboosted 13.5.

I've raced 17.5 boosted and nonboosted. I prefer the first, why? When it's "spec" mode, it always seems to be one speedo reigns superior or a game of money for the best motor of a bunch.

When it's boosted I feel like everyone has a chance to go just as fast, and the playing field is leveled out, but at a higher level. This new level of constant comp tuning is turning a lot of the older guys off, but giving new guys like me a chance to give them some good competition.
