deans plugs

does anyone put female deans plugs for the motor and male on the speedo just like batteries?

rcruv 04-12-2002 06:51 PM

I don't use deans connector for the motor.
It's more hassle than a benefit for me. :D

And there isn't much room to use it in TC3 anyway.

BTW, you should use female for the ESC and male to the motor.
Because power is coming from ESC to the motor.

i just thought to use female plugs because they only have economy packs for them

i used to use deans plugs on the motor and corally style on the battery. i stoped because the esc is right next to the motor and running the deans needed too much wire but when i did have it that way it worked fine. i had male on the motor so i dont know how it would go with female on the motor but unless it unpluged itself during a race it would be fine.

You have to use female one on anything that power's coming out.
Like battery and ESC.
Otherwise you could short circuit it and destroy the batteries or worse, ESC.

where can i get just male plugs?

marvi 04-12-2002 11:49 PM

i dont think male plugs are available separately. last time i checked, female plugs can be bought in 4s per pack, while male plugs always come with females. what i do, i split the pack with a friend who uses females on his batteries. i get the males for my motors (he hardwires his motors.) i dont know if deans offers 4-pack male plugs.

well, im not really sure on the connectors i should use for my motors because i switch them when i race with a friend. so im deciding on the deans or corally style connectors. what do you guys think?

i use corally.... no messing with wires etc... they're just like an extension of the tabs on the endbell.... i find it so convenient... keep your wits about when plugging it in, careful about the polarity....

I'm pretty sure they do not. I did a couple searches just a minute ago, and found only females. Also at work i have not seen just the male plugs, and we carry almost all of deans wiring supplies.

thanks guys, i just purchased some trinity r-minus connectors. i decided the deans would not me cost effective and my motor is next to the speedo, so there is just no room.

y could you want to put connectors on the motor anyways?
doesnt soldering it directly better?

was ist los? 04-13-2002 10:28 PM

for the convience

disaster999 04-13-2002 11:40 PM

oh...but isnt soldering off 2 wires the same as yanking off the plug?

jericsm 04-14-2002 06:46 AM

hmmm... you use a soldering iron to yank off a plug? :)
