Hey guys,

I just raced my EVo today, and have some questions comes to my mind.

Does Evo have not-so-good top end speed??? Out of the corner I think Evo is awsome, but at straight, I got killed by a Kyosho TF4-R which is a belt drive.

The Evo's diff is just a pain to get it right, and a pain to get to it.

How do you guys usually gear for your EVo?? I geared 88/34 today with a green mechine 3 with a mid-size track. But the top end just sucked so I switched to 88/37 to get more RPM out. which worked ok, the top end is just not as good as I wish it would be.

how do you gear evo with a P2K2???

TB-EVOlution.

and no TB01 comes with any TRF parts. TB01 is stock TB rolling chassis.

this 1?? which one are you talking about??

TB-EVO and TB01 are two totally different cars. They don't even share the same chassis. You can not fit a TB01 chassis for a EVO, and it doesn't go other way either.

you can hop up TB01 to a level where it looks like a EVO, but still, EVO and 01 are different, even their suspension geometry are different.

TRF-powered,

Basically, belt driven cars will have a little better top end, versus shaft driven cars will have a little better acceleration. As you know, I have both, and I can definately tell the difference. The TF-4R that spanked you today, was my car that I sold to Steve. I believe he was running a 32K RPM P2k2. He runs the belts really loose to get a little more speed.

You might want to talk to Anthony Fung(he won today, & beat me by 4 seconds) who has one of the faster EVO's. I know that he gears that thing to the moon, using the smallest spur, with like 40+ pinion. Seems to work for him, but I wouldn't do that with a GM3 though. I blew one of those on my TA04 with similar gearing.

You need to move up & race in our class. It would make you feel like your EVO has no acceleration either. We tend to take turns faster, so it would seem like we are accelerating faster, but actually, we just keep the speed up, which allows us to get to the top end sooner.

See you at Tamiya.....

32K RPM P2K2??? where the hell did he get that motor???

I was only running a 19K RPM GM3, it's even tunned by Promatch.... wow.... 32K P2K2??? no wonder I can't catch up with him...

Hey Mr. Slow driver, get one of those 32K P2K2 for me?? lol~

Now I know how I lose. he has about 13K more RMP than I DO!!!!! How can I win???

TRF-Powered,

If anthony would have run the EVO, I think I would have spanked him with my 04RRRRR(special). He only ran the EVO during break. Seemed fast though. He beat me with the 7even.

Steve has several 32K RPM P2k2's. I ran a 31K RPM P2K2 in my 04RRRRR today. I think it was fast enough. I also have a 33K RPM P2K2 which I run on my other 04R with saddle pack chassis. I only run that at the Tamiya track though.

If you want, We could probably sell you one of the P2K2(new) with 32K RPM.

If your GM3 only has 19K RPM, something is wrong. My GM3 has 32K on the dyno sheet.

Come out to Tamiya. We will show you how fast our 04's can go with these motors.
