The top picture is when it was new with the OFNA tires w/o belt. They lasted up to 50mph and blew up into shreds, the 50sh Sweep slicks are a bullet proof set and the car is so far at 74.1mph - 24T pinion - 6S 65C. I am looking to get an Ipanema Warrior body and if its solid enough I'll put in a 30T pinion. 100mph looks possible. The Eagle Tree V4 logger is reporting temps are ok.

Good deal DRPower. I went up in the 70's with 4S and had a blow over with the protoform body. I'm waiting for the new Ipanema body to try again.

I'm also getting a new spool that will support Revo spurs for even greater gearing options. Smallest spur I have is the 34T Integy. Biggest pinion I have is the 34T Traxxas one. Should be interesting to see what 1600kv 1520 motor can do with the smaller Traxxas spurs.

This was a real cool thread! I enjoyed the read, and then..... Wait what no more posts!
gT8 looks so awesome I hope it's still popular.
I've got an RC8.2e in the shop right now being prepped.
Slicks, and the Gt protoform body are on the way to get this project started!

Just finished up the exterior styling of my GT8 conversion.
Started with the base RC8.2e RTR buggy. Got the coil over shock upgrade for additional tuning options.
Running stock springs and diffs for now until I get to tune it in a little bit. Droop is used to lower the car. Shock oil wt70.
Body is the Protoform PF8. It was too cheap to pass on. I'll probably do a delta plastik body next year when my RC project list shortens up.
For now, I think this guy came out well. Running SP Summer Tires (pre mounted).
