"What's best" questions are generally answered by company reps, factory drivers and 50% discount racers.

The fastest I've used have been Putnam Duo 2's. For our RCGT class, I put the 17.5 in my car, tossed a 3.8 FDR at it with 0 timing, and never got passed yesterday in racing (came off at 145). The 21.5/open ESC guys had a bit more on the straight but that's it. (club racer, no sponsorship here BTW)

Most of the motors today are fairly close. The key is finding the right gearing and ESC settings to take advantage of the specific motor's sweet spot, without melting it down.

Not necessarily, all of the above could be a little "biased" by who they represent. Perhaps an "independant" test would be best!!

I come from an Eflight background so i find the way car motors are sold a joke.

the number of "turns - winds" is pretty much garbage these days.

What makes sense is the "kv", rpm per volt.

Take any motor you like in the 540 can size (36mm) and the motor with the highest kv will be the fastest, the lowest kv should have the most torque.

When i started playing with cars i measured some motors and found there is a difference in the quoted kv of similar "turn" motors and the higher kv motors were the "fast" ones.

I hope in the near future the "car" companies wake up and realise not all car enthusiasts are stupid and they start labeling with meaningful real information.

Depends on the 'ESC used, with zero timing ESC, Graupner and LRP x12 are the best ,the best with advance timing ESC is Novak Ballistic, GM, Trinity, Speedpassion.
(Personal opinion)
