I just picked up a JL10E and it's been pretty good. The price point and included components IMO is a solid buy. So far - it has withstood my Sidewinder 5700KV setup (no busted gears - yet). I ran it out in the closest on-road track and with more time for tuning and set-up work, I think it should get better getting around the track. As a basher with a brushless +LiPo setup : I have no complaints.

If racing I would get a cyclone or tc5 roller for cheap here.

If your LHS carries associated parts buy a tc5 or the new tc6 coming out now dont remember the date..

What class are they running?

A sprint 2 can be set up to handle alright with some work and extra parts, but I wouldn't really say it's a good car for racing. Getting parts for it can be difficult as well. I'm a bit biased though, I have a sprint 2 that now sits on a shelf and "hate" might be too strong a word, but I certainly don't like the car.

There are a few things that are badly designed like the rear diff area that tends to be a vacuum for debris to chew up the rear belt and diff pulley. Many people cut away the area on the chassis below to help spit out any junk that gets sucked in. The front belt can rub the battery a bit depending on your battery. The shocks don't have threaded bodies, so you either need spacers to preload and get the ride height right, or replace them entirely. The amount of slop in the steering is atrocious. I could continue, but you get the point I'm sure.

If you are considering spending over $350 on a competition touring car chassis like a tc5 or an x-ray, I'd have to recommend looking at the TOP Photon as well. Great car for the price. Spare parts don't cost a fortune and are readily available online. There are a few little things you need to be aware of when building it, but it's a really nice car.

what parts does your LHS stock? thats the car you should buy. Lots of prev. generation cars will be going up for sale.. good/cheap way for you to try it out without investing a whole lot.

Previous Generation Cars
- Team Associated TC5
- Hot Bodies TC
- X-Ray T3 and T2'009
- Tamiya 416, 416WE, 416x
