You are entitled to your opinion, so we'll see. I think your observations though are unfounded. Chris is at a totally different level; world class. This will bring a new perspective to a car that needs tweaking to run at its full potentail, just like any other car. I'm sure the Assasins you've seen haven't been under the tweaking or stick of someone at this level. After all, Chris is even involved with XXX-main's book on how to tweak which works for any car. His claims are looking good for the car. After all, what are the results Domestically for the Yokomo CGM without Chris; not very good.

Congrats on the switch Chris. The only bad thing I see now is that it is going to be harder to get US track setups for the Yok. Chris's help in the past year has been great even though he hasn't talked to me directly about setup. Just reading through the posts, pulling out info and actually looking at his car at races has helped a lot. I am not one to bug for advise, I will get what I need looking at things for myself.

Hey, maybe my buddy John can buy a corally now and bug you for parts like he did last year in NC at the nats. Remember our conversation in the hotel about him. I thought it was cool that he was that lost with the car and you did whatever needed to keep him up and going. Even giving him parts that were your last ones just to keep him rolling.

I have heard good and bad things with the corally, but being a fully sponsored driver is a bit different than trying to locate the parts on your own. I would have purchased one last winter, but the LHS here didn't want to stock parts. That's why I stuck with the Yok.

Personally, I have wanted to purchase a Corally Assassin for a while now. I just feel that the car is too far above my abilities. There are too many possible tuning adjustments! In fact, I have seen some of the best people at my club purchase the car and sell it shortly after. While they couldn't get the car to work right, that doesn't mean that the car is crap. In this case I firmly believe that the car offers so many tuning options, many people get lost, confused or just do not want to put the time in. This car would take longer to set up properly, over other cars, just because of the tuning options.
The build quality on this car is second to none and I have seen then run as fast as anything else out there. If I were a better driver, I would definately buy one.

I am all for debate on here, but some of you really need to stop the personal attacks. If you think the Corally is a bad choice for Chris (or anyone) to drive then great, that's you're opinion. But publicly attacking people is something else entirely.

For what it's worth, I built an Assassin last week and drove it this morning. Car seemed great to me on asphalt. A little twitchy at high speed is about the worst thing I can say about it. There are a few things that make it kind of a pain to work on, but other than that, it's a great car, and should be able to compete just fine with anything out there.

And taking shots at a car you've never owned is just plain stupid.

You've never driven a Corally but you are an expert?I guess since you can't race at HobbyWorld for awhile you've got plenty of extra time on your hands. I could go on and on but I'm not. If you want to continue your banter go ahead and burn somemore bridges ( I hear they have a special on them).

Congratulations on the new ride. I have no reason to think that the Corally will not be fast. Schumacher and Yok's were plenty fast in your hands....lol

I'm an average sort of driver, didn't start racing toy cars until I was past "middle-aged", and have had an Assassin since they were released. It took me months to get mine set up to suit my driving/tracks. I am really pleased I stuck with it, not only because I prefer not to run everyone's must have car, but because it has developed into a really good handling and fast car.

A driver of Chris's set up ability will get it dialed in no time at all. I think many people will be surprised at how capable a car it is. Corally have a continual development program going, and I'm sure Chris's imput will speed development up even more. Being a small company these improvements filter down to the general racer really quickly.
