Default Official Tamiya TB03D Build & Resource Thread!

YO YO YO!

I'm Back at it again!.. starting projects while others are in progress. LOL. I finally got to use my depo at my LHS. Backordered kits.. long story. So I decided to get my hands on this puppy (TB03D) for all purpose drift car to use on street, carpet, smooth concrete, etc. Mainly wanted to use it for outdoor purposes. My TCX will remainly mainly a indoor car. Tamiya makes some GREAT kits. The instructions were clear, and it was fun to build. I took some pics along my journey hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Default Things to look out for...

i drove the TB-02 and TB-03. Both have a similar problem in pinching bearings. the main bearing that sits on the shaft in front of the spur gear, if you tighten down the covers, it will pinch bearing and cause a tick of binding.

What I do is tighten it down then back it off until the drivetrain is free. Best way to test is to spin the drivetrain.

Just something to look out for.

Thanks for the tip. I don't know if they fixed it, but my chassis does not have that binding/pitching problem. I can spin freely without any binding at all.

Default

I have to say that this chassis is one of the best chassis for mid range pricing. I am thinking bout hopping up the chassis with these parts.

TB03D Wishlist

- TB03D Aluminum Bumper Support - 54128
- TB03D Carbon Damper Stay (front) - 54124
- TB03 Aluminum Heat Sink - 54093
- TB03 Aluminum Racing Steering Set - 54095
- TB03 Carbon Steering Link - 54097
- TB03 Aluminum Damper Stay Mount - 54146
- TRF Special Dampers (4 pcs) - 42102
- TB03 Carbon Damper Stay (rear) - 54122
- TB03 Aluminum Universal Prop Shaft - 54052

My rule is don;t replace parts until its broken. So I may not get all these parts at once. Judging by the list I'm thinking it's going to cost $160-$200 for the parts am I wrong here?

Anyone have these parts for sale?
