Not at all. On-road NEEDS it's Slash. Something to get new people out to the on-road tracks and help attendance. I'm not sure if this is it or not.

I'm not sure what a true rally car is in the R/C world. I also don't know what true rally racing is in the R/C world. I do know that if it's a bunch of grown men running after their cars through "stages," I want nothing to do with it. I've seen the videos. It's the most ridiculous thing I've seen.

However, if it's cars like this on a track with some elevation changes, a little bit of air time and tires that allow a little drift action, you can count me in.

Yeah, running through the forest doesn't sound like fun... I'd take up mountain biking at that point.

R/C Rally would be cool if it was a combo of dirt and asphalt, elevation changes and a little air time. Offroad RC has kinda turned into Stadium Motocross with its extreme jumps and air time.

I can really see these taking off on small, temporary parking lot tracks. I'm thinking the type of parking lot you see in front of typical hobby shops. Throw down some cones, no track prep and go have fun.

Agreed, saw a few of those vids on youtube this morning with the drivers chasing after their cars lol it looked very odd. I am still game for this car though, i've always been a fan of the Focus rally car (hence my userid) so i'm anxious to drive one... hopefully they come out with replica bodies as well!

I have 10+ acres of land that I built my house on. Before I came along, there was a mobile home on it. I built my house quite a ways away from where the mobile home was and sold it. Now there is a 16 X 60 foot concrete slab just setting there. Not big enough for a on road track but big enough for half of a track for these. We could make a few turns and a big straight on the slab then head out into the dirt for the other half of the track. Sounds interesting!

The huge jumps that are the current trend in off road racing just turns me off. I'm racing a car, not flying an airplane.

I'm getting one and hope a spec class pops up at WCRC for it too.

On-road has had a TON of "Slashes"...but none of them were embraced as a spec class and fiercely protected by the racers as a spec class, the way the Slash and subsequently Spec Short Course were.

If people treat this car the way they did the Slash, then maybe it'll take off...but the first impression it makes is pretty mediocre, visually. At least, for me. If Traxxas works out a licensing deal with WRC for replica bodies, that would possibly help. But in their marketing right now, they're selling it like a drift car. Color me skeptical
