RC's Greatest..and Worse
Do you remember the electric chassis (and nitro) that just didn't seem right? Or it was just weird looking and different? theirs been the best and worse thru out the years!...for example:
1) Schumacher's Electric Powered 1:6th scale On-road car. "The Big 6"
2) HPI's 2 speed system for the early RS4 line-up
3) OFNA OB4 (Mid Mounted motor on-road R/C seemed weird to me in 2002, but these days.. its normal)
3) Tamiya's 6 wheeler indy car! (Forgot the name haha)
What do YOU remember being "different"?

Kyosho's 4wd 1/12th car. Very cool car. It should have been updated before it left.

Not so great, the Marui Hunter. Looked like the best car ever for offroad...the problems started when you took it out of the box.
The Duratrax Delpi Indy. A total pile stock even for the price. They should have offered a full option version.
Any 1/10th Hirobo, they were so close.
Mugen Bulldog, too weird to wonder why it happened at all.

I still have the air dampers from my old Bulldog. They were strange enough to keep the for the memories.

The version released for the asian market was even worse when I was there back then, the driveshafts ran on dog bones.
Back on topic, "different" or weird for me, the Kyosho Super 10 and Tamiyas version of the Super 10th scale nitros (I think there was one can't remember the name) and the HPI Super RS4... which they even tried to revive later on with an electric version of it.
Where those the only companies that came out with the super 10 chassis'?
Kind of different design, Kyosho KX-Ones monobelt drivetrain with centralized battery.

HPI Pro4... the one I had would break if you looked at it wrong.
Losi Mini Late Model... sloppiest front end ever and the wheels wobbled right out of the box.
RJ Speed Legend... only because it's way overpriced. Needs to include a spec motor if it's going to be priced at around $100. You're better off buying a used roller off eBay.
Traxxas Bandit VXL Brushless... good luck getting it to turn & not roll over at high speeds.
Anything from Custom Works... $400 for pretty much any kit they offer! Fugetaboutit.

- Yokomo YR-F2
Not so great/weird:

It seems to me that Tamiya was doing their best work in the late 90's. Lots of clever packaging ideas and out of the box thinking. who knew the crazy TA03 design would work.
