ok I hate to ask this and if its on this thread somewhere I am sorry, I could not find it. I am really diggin these cars, however I have heard Ofna has diff problems. As the ring, pinion and spider gears inside are soft and strip. especially on the ultra cars. any input would be great.
Thanks in advance guys and galls.

Hey AE Guy,,Ofna GTP-e's
Hey,,I have built 5 of these in last couple months,,i have run all dirrent size castle motor;s in them all from a 1600kv to 2650 and run some huge pinion gears and all on 40c/80 l5 and 6S lipo;s and they have held up great,,running them very gard in straight line runs,,i do know if you get out there and start doing donut;s..reverse wide open runs and slinging it around, backwards donut;s ect and just truely mistreating the car,,onbe of the diffs would probably give sooner or later,,running a couple with silicone diff fluids and some straight out of the box and had no diff issues at all and i have put them down had from dead stops to all out top ends and only failure has been foam's and 1 center diff gear,,that is all so far,,they are the best bang for the buck with a 25 to 28 or 30t pinion if you mod the motor mount to fit a mod1 30t,,you can get 100mph and right on it,, with good lipo;s and right motor,,best bang for the buck in a 1/8 electric set up,,and i am converting another one from nitro to brushess this week by friday,,so will let you know if that one is tougher than the electric out of the box onesmmmno diff problems as of yet,,lol,,get you one,,they are fun with the right set up in them,,and pretty damned fast for a big car like it is,,uise some hard shore foams and monster esc.motor with at least a mod 128T pinion on a 5 or 6 ;s and you 80mph easy,,good luck if you get one,,

If you stick to modest gearing (motor temperature 100-110deg) on 4S power the gears will seem to last a lifetime. If you will be joining a club and doing serious track duty with the car (hard breaking/accelerating) the gears will obviously wear faster but will still last a season.
Ofna does make hardened gears if this become a concern.

Hey guys this is my 1st post on the (on-road) section
At my local track we are inplenting a new class for our monday nights races
it will be 1/8 scale off-road rally with this car as a base kit with 1/8 scale rally and roadrage tires from proline
I have too many questions
should I order a center diff?
and I feel like running 6s with a 1350kv motor not for speed but for long run times
tips would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance
Karl

thanks Capt'n, I have a mamba monster with a 2200kv motor in a old losi 8ight so I was going to just "borrow" from that car for a while. I did want to run 6s (kind of looking for something on the "silly fast" side of things). Any input?

1) Get a set of 50 or 55 shore pre-mount tires (last long and will handle speed runs).
2) Get a decent battery 4500-5000mah 40C-45C (hobbyking.com sells them cheap).
3) Use bullet or high amp draw connectors (deans, tamiya, traxxas battery connectors meltdown)
4) Gear initially for 48-54mph depending on your motor temperatures (130-145deg).
5) Adjust your car to ensure the rear end is planted.
6) Trim your radio steering throw (100% to 65%) and exp -30 on your radio. (high speed roles are not fun)
7) Trim your radio throttle exp -20 to reduce initial punch making it more predictable on launch/accellerating.
8) Adjust and re-adjust until you are confident.
Next step pull up a new set of rubber under wear and strap in a 6s with the same gearing.
You should be pulling 75-80 mph+.
Find a 300 to 400ft parking lot with a stand (bed of your truck, dumpster, hill, etc).
Most importantly ensure your pants are tucked inside your boots so your buddies will not know when you shit yourself .

Just started bringing my GTP2-E up to speed. Made about 5-6 passes back to back with a 21T pinion. I would say about 75mph.
Took the body off, and inspected everything.
Found my rear center drive dogbone and outdrives very warm. Anyone have any ideas, except for friction of the dogbone ears in the slots?
The front just slightly over ambient.
NOTE* The new Sweep EXP 50 treaded tires are holding up great!!!!!

Hi Everyone - Just wanted to say hello to the good folks here. Your posts have been very helpfull and i think its about time i chime in and give back. I'll post pics of my 2 GTP2's soon. One was just finished and the tweaking starts soon (MMM 2200kv & ESC) and the 2nd is waiting on me to choose a motor and electronics.

What's the best Hobbywing combo for my Ofna GTP2E. I plan on racing with 4S.
Also what's the best place to get it online? I'm in Canada.
