So whats all u'r opinion on this setup:

RX8 (borrowed from my scte) but could be permenant. hehe
tenshock x802L v2 2200kv
17t pinion
stock spur

what speeds should I expect? My real intentions is to make this GTP2e into a rally but this being my first road car, I wanna have some on-road fun first.

If you're talking 4S, pretty slow.............~38mph
On our large track I would bump to a 22t pinion with fans on everything...~50mph

rcwck,

Thinking 4s mostly but 6s on speed runs (just for giggles). Fans will be run on both ESC and motor but what do u think a "safe" pinion size would be. Not looking to overheat/fry any of my electronics.

17t pinion is the biggest pinion I currently have so I was gonna start there, but that's gonna be to slow for me.

by speed calculator you should do over 90MPH .. theoretically 95-98

but not on a hobbywing style motor i doubt it will get in the 80's I could be mistaken though , maybe castle or tekin

tenshock 6pole?
im using the duratrax onyx brushless system.4p0le 2200kv 120a. I know its not a popular brand but it was affordable and as far as I can tell so far it gets the job done
I as looking at a tenshock 6pole motor is it ok with my current esc( 120a continuous)

I believe your car is one of the biggest and best values in the R/C car market for the GT8 class of vehicle.
there isn't too many bodies available as far as I can tell unless you know of any

That 22t should be ok with good fans. Check temps every couple minutes. Track temp plays a big part. Make sure you have some airflow through the body.

The more poles the better
they have more torque and better efficiency
