Hi all,
I've been running my gtp2 for almost 2 years with a tekin combo (RX8 + 2650kv) with 4s. Suddenly, the ESC died! I'm thinking to switch to a castle MMM, but my question is, do I buy a 2650kv or 2200kv combo? Will the castle 2200kv run as much faster as my tekin's 2650kv with the proper gearing?
Thanks

Tekin can fix it. Check theiryou website. Why go backwards in getting a Castle??

Guys around here are very competitve with the MMP and the 2650. MMP seems fine on 4S. Some do have to run an ubec as the CC bec has some issues depending on cell count and servo type. I have to agree that Tekin stuff seems better but at almost twice the price as the MMP.

^^ love #2

What do we have available as far as option/tuning springs? Amain parts list for the GTP2 doesn't show any other springs. would like to think that something else uses these shocks or suitable springs.

Im asking because my front end seems VERY soft. im gonna step up the oil a bit and see if that helps much, but i get chassis slap a ton on the front end.

hello from France,

I allways raced my GTP2e with the red springs from the DM1.
That's the same shock absorber.

Au revoir.

Don't get me wrong on my opinion about the RX8 but I have burned up (catch on fire kind of burn up) 2 of them on my car. I do not think the RX8 can take as much abuse as the MMM.

If you bought the RX8 with in 3 months and have the sale receipt they will replace/repair it for free.

I know that my gearing was a bit high because I am doing speed runs but ever since I changed back to a MMM I never had any problems with burning up the ESC. All the electronics is the same... Tekin T8 2250KV motor, CC cap pak, CC BEC, 7955TG servo, and 614FF rx.

But I do missed the smooth sensored cog free from the Tekin RX8.

what have you guys come across as the most ideal setup for the shocks. my front end is either too stiff or slapping the chassis constantly. springs and oil weight front and rear would be awesome.

I just installed the SNR graphite chassis on mine and was wondering if those of you that have this if you are just holding the front DM1 bumper with the three bolts. Is this strong enough or do I have to convert to the DM1 gear box as well to tie into for added strenght?

Is it possible to adjust the ride height for this car to run on short grass or dirt? What tires would I use for that?

I am curious on the suspension too. What would it take to convert to a Buggy.

For bashing in dirt I would just get some mounted tires from Suprasales on eBay.

Just sold my RC18 collection so I could fund one of these...

Anyone have one of these that they want to get rid of? I'm looking for one in really good condition. Thanks!

For $179 shipped from tower if your a member, not going to get much cheaper than that.

Most eBay rollers I have watched come real close to that price so might as well buy new.
