I have torn down and rebuilt after cleaning everything up but it still hangs up as it crosses center both Left to right and right to left. I am curious if any of you racers are using any aftermarket parts to tighten the steering rack up.

So I swapped my stock 14 tooth pinion with a 21 tooth pinion and now the car is ridiculously fast! i calculate at least 60mph which is really fast when you're just bashing around on the street. I actually thought the Sweeps 55 i bought would be better than the stock tires but they are slipping and sliding all over the place. I went back with the stock tired and works better. I have to do something about the torque off the line speed is too much, wondering if I can program my Hobbywing 150a Pro ESC to tame the start speed a tad.

Anyhow, I have been having so much fun with this car, loving it! I need tighter springs, any recommendations?

I've been racing my car (with myself and other drivers) in the Heart of America Series this past season. Many TQ's and Wins over newer cars and some with way more money in them.

Diff has not been an issue. Actually just broke the 1st part this weekend trying some new tires that required more laps to get warmed up.

Based on the last post I think I am going to purchase one of these. I have a 2200KV Castle motor and ESC to put in. I will use this on a track that has a long straight... about 220-240 feet. A few questions...........

Will the Castle 2200 KV be enough on 4S if geared with say a 21 tooth pinion

... I want to get it just past 50 mph to keep up with the nitro guys...

Do you recommend a heat sink and/or fan?

Do you guys run Alpha's, Sweeps or some other tires for racing?

Is there any way to make this car lighter and not spend a fortune?

For less than two hunderd this is a good buy.. I just wish more guys would come to my local track... at that point I would purchase the Serpent.... It's better quality... but what the heck... I can always use it for a few months and sell it for 60% +/- for what I paid for it....

I wish we had an organization like that here in SoCal, it's all off roaders, not sure why. On road racing is not that big here in the USA, Europe has the best tracks, and orgs for that. It's a shame really, must be because it's way too expensive to keep a track up, pay the rent, the lights, etc. I'm so hungry to race but don't want to kill my car running on streets or rough surfaces.

I am in the process of converting my old but mint, MBX buggy into E-power, and will convert it to on-road use also. It looks like the GTP is very similar to the original MBX.

Is there anything critical on the chassis that I MUST or SHOULD change to make the MBX buggy into a GTP type road car?

Looking for 70+ mph.

Plan:
Trackstar 2350kv (~2300watt) sensored.
4S Lipo Nano-Tech 5000mah
Trackstar 150A ESC
Slick tires
Lower the buggy suspension and run stiffer oils in shocks and center diff.
Add the GTP bumper.
Good aero body

Advice GREATLY appreciated! ;-)

Pre-Conversion

While I wait for the parts to convert the MBX, I opened up the diffs which were still factory greased. They were basically open diffs as the grease was pretty scarce, and dried out. I added 7000 diff oil to the front, 100K to the center, and left the rear with the factory grease; basically open.

What's a decent on-road body for high speed running, that fits on the 330 x 300 mm chassis of the MBX?
