Built the little 2011 fella last night, usual Xray xuality, very nice smooth steering system, All is great.
Then went to install the radio, what were they thinking, the servo has been moved back exactly 7mm compared to the T3. If you use a futaba, savox or any other servo requiring the rear servo post hole, good luck mounting the esc and receiver next to each other.
I assume the forward servo hole is for KO servo's?
No wonder a few of the pro cars pictured show the servo ear cut off in order to mount the receiver.

I always put my reciever ontop of the servo anyway?
sure the balance may not lign up with the orbit of jupiter, but i haven't had any issues with handling.

So i m back from my test day, basicaly the t3'11 is a good car...
Well i have a first good impression...
Some points:
- ball cup had a lot of play after only 200laps (5run)
- plastic shock leak!!!
- need more rear traction
For my first run, i was only at 4teeth from the best lap of the track... It s a good feeling!
Bearing are good but the spur bearing broken...
All other are sooooo free!!
Diff is in shape.. For now, i only take a new set of ballcup and alu shock.
Finally i m very happy!!!

It wont do anything, it just looks ugly
A guy that i race with said, I quote "I would rather give up RC, than put my receiver on the servo"
he is gonna be dissapointed when he see's my car i think

I m trying to find .3 or .4 per lap and for this i need to increase corner speed and setup...
Where i need to focus with the T3?
Flex?
Shock upgrade to alu?
Boca bearing?
Loosing weight?
Gear diff?
Ecs shaft?
I run a 10.5 stock class with stock t3"11 and out of the box setup

I happen to have a 008 - which happens to have tamiya trf shocks on - I bought it second hand that way.
Anyway, I have stuch the plsatic shocks on, and they just do not compare with TRF shocks.
I do have a shock building pump, but even then, the plastic shocks are more difficult to build consistently as the tamiya ones.
Out of interest, why do Xrays have plastic shock absorbers on them. They aren't much cheaper than the alloy ones, and their action is ok - not brilliant.
I just can't understand the logic - is it a weoight saving measure?
I think RC KNIGHT was making a valid point about plastic parts - as it lowers the Xray perceived value.

I think Xray should really look into their shocks, the current design has been around for ages, I'm sure they have the knowledge to come up with some thing better.
As a hint take a good look at the Capricorn shocks.
