For the team drivers that tested the car, did you use the small stands for the steering that connect to the top deck? If so, what did you find it did compared to if you didnt use them?

Thanks

I'm in that boat too. Looking forward to seeing my buds this next weekend!!

After reading the details about the '11, I can't quite tell what would be needed for a conversion from a T3. Is there a new motor mount, or is it just moved inward on the chassis? And I think I read the rear end is narrower improving rear traction. Does that require new narrower rear arm mounts too?

Here's the list of needed parts I'm thinking I would need. (I have a near new T3 and I'd rather not sell it if the conversion to the '11 is a tolerable amount)

Chassis
Steering system
Rear arm mounts?
Motor mount?

Any info is appreciated!

Thanks Drew and EA for the great support here and across the country. It is nice to have drivers further up the mountain lending a helping hand down to us ambitious learners!

Personal attacks are not cool. Are the people who are lashing out at me represent Xray? Since many of you have Xray, RCAmerica in your sig, I'll take that as a yes. I don't think I'm breaking RCtech rules by giving my opinion about products.

Let me ask you guys this, how much better do you think the new car will handle against say the new HPI, AE, and Tamiya cars? Honestly? What sets this car apart from their competition? So the handling will be far greater than all the other cars? What's left? Sorry, but it's going to be epic for sure. Many T3 owners are already talking about upgrading their current T3 with a few parts. Xray must be hurting since they are really starting to cut costs. It's just too bad. If the price reflects what I see then I have no issue with it. Just sucks you have to buy everything as an option part. Plus the cost of a front diff if you race carpet?

I just think Tamiya is really tring to improve every detail of their car. It's just a matter of time untill Xray gives in and adopts the common trends. With some of their own design features and some of the current trends it would have appealed to more people, but this is just my opinion though.

All Aluminum steering, and camber links on the bulkhead would have made the difference to me. The value to cost lacks. My prediction? Well I'll keep it to myself. lol And that's all I got to say about that. lol
You still haven't justified why you want everything to be metal.

Plastic resists impacts far better which is why you don't see many broken wishbones or bent pivot pins and holders on Xray's.

In 20 months I've broken only one wishbone in an impact (we'll ignore the Tekin 'runaway' into brickwork flat out that destroyed everything)

Metal is also heavier.

I used to wonder about the plastic shocks before I went to Xray, but they are no different from the metal versions and work better than the Schumacher versions I used to use.

The only thing I was expecting was the links on the bulkheads.

Default Changes?

I agree with you, but people like eye candy. Aluminum just gives it that value feel and strength. Like your getting what you pay for. I just think aluminum steering and the camber link change would have made the difference. Now you got to pay more to get the option? I can deal with the shocks, I like the clickers.

Drew can you explain the reason for the cut outs on one side of the chassis, but not on the other side? Just wondered how this affected side to side flex? Why no motor cut outs? Did the vents make a difference at all? Thx

It doesn't apear as though you will be able to. But, I wonder, or does anyone know, if you can run the new steering system and upperdeck with the current bottom deck (chassis). I know this is small, but I just bought the hudy chassis weights for the battery slots and it sucks they cant be used on the new chassis.

The steering racks are alumn as I talked to drew today about it. Also the cut outs are for people that run batteries with humps on the bottom.

More "eye candy" for people like you to look at? And you think you are the majority? Personally you sound like a basher that is just looking at all the pretty colors, I doubt Xray cares whether you think plastic shocks are needed or some more aluminum because you seem to have no clue or concern with function. Just because Tamiya does something you expect everyone else to jump on the bandwagon? Xray builds RACE cars for RACERS!! Do you even race TC??
