Same as AE TC6, but their kit is cheaper and comes with titanium camber links and hard coated shocks. Get it? As a customer, I want those features if I'm paying a high price for it. Heck I would pay more, as Xray already has great design features to add. The car is not out yet, so we will see soon enough. If you fanboys can't understand this then, well, sorry, but then you can't see past the name. Drew I respect you and the team, don't get me wrong here, it's their decision and sale will reflect it. My point is made and I'm done.
TC6 will be cheaper because its manufactured in the Far East, lower price for raw materials. Xray will cost more because its manufactured in Europe, higher raw material price. Nothing to do with features (hence why some 1/8th nitro buggies cost more than 1/5th gas buggies, and why 1/12th pan cars cost as much as 1/10th electric buggies).

Theres the simple fact that you're just posting BS (100 kits....hahahahahaha) that makes you fantastically unreliable to listen to. Get a decent source next time please, not something you made up. Thanks!

BTW, when the car goes on sale, I think we need a new thread free from made up rumours.

That's because there are a bunch of great guys that just like to continue to feed the animal.
This is my last feeding becuase because it is so hard not to and RCKnight is so cute in his rantings. The design philosophies of the founders of Xray are maifested in what is the T3. That up till now does not include bulkhead mounted camber links, double post steering, titanium anything, or teflon coated shocks. That is the "personality" of an Xray that differentiates it from the other great cars out there. It is those differences that makes us racers decide on an Xray, Tamiya, TOP, or whatever because it follows what our indivual opinions of what a high end RC race car kit should be.
If you took a T3 and anodised it blue an Xray owner woud know immediately something was up. So would a Tamiya owner if he walked by an orange anodised 416. If it didn't there would no sense in have different companies. Everyone familiar knows what makes an Xray an Xray and they either agree or shop somewhere else. If the new car is coming out with minimal changes then that is the decision of Mr. Hudy and the company, like all companies, live or die on these decisions. So far they have been pretty succesful in those decisions.
Drew Ellis said the car is coming in with minimal changes. Anyone familiar with Xray knows this what they do after a major platform change. That change was the T2 to the T3. So it should not be surprising that any changes are refinements not evolution. What we should be doing is twisting his arm for details detail details. Instead of continuing to feed the animal.

I have had no less than half a dozen posts typed and then 'canceled' instead of 'posted' because I didn't want to encourage the continued spreading of ridiculous rumours presented as 'fact' (100 kits, unhelpful RCAmerica team, poor marketing by Xray, etc)...

For a company that knows so little about marketing, they seem to do quite well with their global racing activities. They have built a fiercely loyal customer base around quality, performance and support. They have a central location for product information (product info, features, benefits, standard and option part breakdowns, manuals, setups, etc), race reports, community forum...the list goes on and on.

It could be argued that no company markets or supports their products better than Xray.

As far as holding back information until close to release time, that is a sound marketing and product launch strategy. This ensures that delivery times (and product features) once identified to the market can be met. (I'm sure some of us remember the '2 weeks' fiasco that another competitor endured for several months).

Is it the only go-to-market strategy that is effective?...Certainly not....but it is most definitely justifiable.

Default 100 kits sold in the US?

not sure why this was so offensive to people, but my local hobby store has had one 008 sitting on the shelf since it came out. To my understanding they sold a 009, had one stolen, sold T3R since 2008. I remind you they hosted the ROAR Nats two years ago. Over hundred entries from all over the US. Drew how many Xray's were there besides the team drivers? There's one local T3 driver at the track and he's a team driver. lol I guess they are popular at some tracks, but not that much here in NE. If that is the case here, how many states have do you think support more than say 10 T3s at one local track? What about CA? So Drew how many kits were sold in the US alone for the T3? Because you said only a hand full of people know those numbers. Do you know? Not sure why we are debating this topic. Somehow I claimed this as fact when indeed I did not. Read my posts first people.

RCknight, I am done, from your past post to the new ones you have no rock to stand on. You make no sense. You still have not said any names or your own. You can send me a PM if you want. I really like to know who I am dealing with on here. I understand that this is your opinion, i have no problem with that. But you try and make it sound like these are things you know for fact. And you act like you have some inside source, but that source if there is a source is so wrong. I will not say the number of kits sold this year, but I will say it was a lot more then a 100. Maybe you need to go back and read your post again. The Nats that year there was probley around 30-35 Xray's there including the team. I remember that race well I got 3rd in 10.5. We helped out alot of people that week. I am not attacking you or anything like that if you felt that then I am sorry. I just want people to know the truth, there is to much of this "BS" going around on here. Some people most people want helpful, useful info about products.

Guys if you want helpful info and support. Check out the RCAmerica thread on here. The whole team is there chatting and helping.

Thanks Drew

Thanks Drew

RCKNIGHT...isnt your track a mostly foam tire track? If so then who ever told you That RCAmerica sold 100 T3 kits meant foam kits. That could possibly be true there. But no way for Rubber kits. Heck at our race this past weekend there were no less than 10 Xray T3's there out of 40. Thats a 1/4 of the field and Id say of the remaining 3/4 half of those were older Xrays...maybe even more than that!

This thread is highly entertaining! RCKnight's source was also 100% positive that the T3 was going to be shaft drive. Sounds pretty reliable to me.

Can't wait to see Xray's announcement of the new car, and moreso, to get one in my hands.

I read it, sounds like a claim to me. English and comprehension, learn it.

If that is a incorrect number of sales, I very glad to know that.
Because you made up a number trying to fish for a companies sales records. That's like calling up any other private production company and asking what their profit margin is. If you're not an investor [as in stock owning stake in the company] you have no right or expectation to that information.

My sorces have been good in the past. If they are wrong, so be it, their intentions are not bad.
Your sources are like your "facts", made up.

Again though, this is not a advertisement place for Xray, this is a place to talk racing and products. Sorry if posts don't go in the direction you want. I never jump on anyone for giving their opinion on a product or otherwise. I've always said this is my opinion, but much of it makes logical sense to me. Sorry if I expose shortfalls, but I have much good to say about Xray as well.
Good or bad, you spew garbage just to do it. I'm no fan boy, haven't bought a new TC in the last 6 years, and your "opinions" are based in fantasy, attempted to be passed as fact, and have no place outside your head. We don't want, or need, to hear it.

Do multiple personalities count as sources?

Problem is, there is no car to talk about. Maybe that is why this thread went the way it did?
