That would be an M3 Tap.
I assume that there is a hole all the way through, it's just that the thread doesn't also go all the way through.

As they are alloy it should be fairly easy to tap.

I used top ball studs and they have long ballcups that are the same style as Xray . I think they are 5.5mm balls and are low profile .

The holes seem to be threaded all the way through, the recommended ball studs are not threaded all the way. So it seems you need to either:

1. Create more threads on the ball studs so they reach the top of the lip
or
2. Ream out the clamps so the non threaded part of the ball studs will fit. (which I believe would mean a larger diameter that an M3 tap).

Either way at somewhere around $45 a pair ... was expecting a better fit and finish to the recommended use of harware.

finally got to build my first xray.

does the setup book come standard with the kits? mine doesn't have one, I only have a downloaded pdf version from xray.

WTF's up with that!!! How much did you pay for that kit?! The high gloss manual/set-up cheat sheets are all part of the 'LUXURY' package of ownership. That's BULLSHIT!! You don't have to be upset, I'll be upset for ya.......

raced my t3 11 for the first time sunday, all i can say is WOW! what a major difference from the 009 sedan. also running front and rear gear diffs to. these things should of been designed years ago.

The new kit should not have the set up book.based on the XRAY rx8 manual,the thing say that to make sure all set up information is the most updated,therefore the set up book will only be available online

Well, not printing and including the glossy stuff and setup sheets saves Xray a bit of money and since the price of kits isn't going down .. I'd like to see them do something for the customer's with that savings ... like including some ECS's or aluminum shocks or new upper clamps in the 2012 edition, it would be only fair.

Maybe I'll sell my glossy setup book on eBay, since I guess it is a limited edition collectors item now .. lol.
